L-R: Bare Again, Supremely Confident, New Temptation, Behave Yourself, Full Speed, Look at Her!
Bare Again, Supremely Confident, New Temptation
Behave Yourself, Full Speed, Look at Her!
Here are some of the new Sheen Supreme lipsticks from MAC which are rumored to be replacing the Slimshine lipsticks. These are, true to its name, packed with sheen and is very light on the lips. I also noticed that pigmentation is softer compared to the other formulas of MAC. That said, I've always loved a lipstick-lipgloss hybrid. If I had deemed the Peacocky Kissable Lipcolour as liquid lipstick, is the Sheen Supreme a solid lipglass? Well, not really, because the texture is not as tacky as a lipglass. In fact this is much smoother than a lipglass, very lightweight, not warm on the skin at all. I think I may have found another MAC favorite!

I love the feel of this product on my lips. The shine is an added bonus, and of course since it is reminiscent of the Slimshine without the disturbing metallic scent, this for me is an improved version of the Slimshine. Don't think that the Sheen Supreme is merely all shine without color, they are in fact pigmented without heavy feel on the lips.
The downside of course is that like the Slimshines, these are quite soft and will most probably melt in the heat if you leave it in the car or some warm place. You will probably go through a tube faster than your regular lipsticks because the formula is soft and very creamy. That said, the downside does not detract from the fact that it the shades are extremely wearable and the formula is quite dreamy. Staying power is good although not excellent, but I relish applying my lipstick if it is this smooth, creamy, lightweight luscious-looking.
Let's take a look at some of the shades. I will be swatching the rest of the shades when they hit the stores.
L-R: Look at Her!, Behave Youself, Bare Again, Full Speed, New Temptation
I decided not to swatch Supremely Confident and just have it as a giveaway prize for my readers because just looking at it, I know that this would be WAY too light for my medium skintone.
Look at Her!
Look at Her! is a metallic copper that would suit medium to darker skintones or those with warm complexions. This has less creamy than the other Sheen Supremes I've tried, but the formula is still great - easy to apply, lovely vanilla scent, lightweight feel.
Behave Yourself
Behave Yourself is a light blue pink shine. Now I usually stay away from these kinds of shades because they are too cool for my skintone, but the slightly sheerer formula of this lipstick makes it really wearable for me.
Bare Again
Bare Again is one of my favorites since I was obsessed with Bare slimshine bback in the day. When Bare slimshine started disappearing from MAC counters, I would buy them from eBay in multiples. Ha. Now Bare Again is a godsend since I don't need to pan-handle for Bare. It is a pinky neutral beige that is a universal color and would suit most skintones.
Full Speed
Full Speed is one of my top favorites along with Bare Again. I was actually surprised with this shade as I'd thought it would look off with my skintone. I was wrong. It is such a beautiful shade of pink, more of a bright yellow pink. Love it!
New Temptation
New Temptation is a vivid blue red. I loved blue-based reds because not only does it look good on my warm skintone, it also makes the teeth appear whiter. The softer-looking formula also makes this a more forgiving shade of bright blue-red.
All in all, this is a winner for me. As I said, I love the marriage of color and shine, and the creamy goodness of the formula made me fall in love with it. The softer hues also make me a huge fan of this line. I cannot wait to swatch the rest of the shades when they go out in stores tomorrow. I recommend Bare Again, New Temptation and Full Speed. Based on the description and promo images, I will also be getting Impressive, Can't Get Enough and maybe Insanely It. This is right up there with my favorite MAC lip product formulas.
The Shades Of U Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
