Milani Fierce Foil Eye Shine Eye Shadow palettes in 01 Milan and 02 Rome

Milani recently came up with all-metallic eye shadow palettes called Milani Fierce Foil Eye Shines.  They are eye shadows in quads with a high metallic finish.  The texture is very very soft and it takes a while to get used to the feel of the product.  It is by no means a powder but it does dry to a powder finish.

I have four of the Milani Fierce Foil Eye Shines.  Here are the four palettes, swatches, and my thoughts on them.

Wearing Milani Fierce Foil Eye Shine Eye Shadow in 02 Rome

Milani Fierce Foil Eye Shine in 01 Milan is my favorite, as it is the neutrals palette.  It has metallic champagnes, light pinks, browns.  Milani Fierce Foil Eye Shine in 02 Rome is what I'm wearing in the look above.  It is a metallic pink and purple palette.  Milani Fierce Foil Eye Shine in 03 Florence is the warm golds, bronzes and copper metallics.  Milani Fierce Foil Eye Shine in 04 Venice is the white, grey and blue palette.

Each palette comes now with a sponge applicator, but with a plastic spatula, which is a bit hard to apply to the eye.  I suggest that you just use the spatula to scoop up a little bit of product, but because the product is so soft, the best way to apply it is to use your fingertips.  Make sure to apply sparingly and carefully build the intensity.

I can say that this is not a palette that you can use all over the eye.  Since all shades are metallic, it would look absurd to use all simultaneously in one eye look.  I think it would have been better if Milani included some mattes in the palette to balance the colors and finishes, so that they can all be used in one eye look.  Given that all of them are metallics, you can only use one or two at a time for any given eye look.

It takes a while to learn how to blend these, but these work mostly as lid colors for me.  I like to put them on the center of the lid to really make the eyes pop.  It is also nice to line the lower or upper lashlines to create a pop of color.

All in all, these are great if you want metallic effect on the eyes, particularly during special events or night looks.  I wouldn't recommend these for daytime except if you use one or two colors sparingly.

What are your favorite palettes from this collection?
