Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday! Today are some swatches from the Zoya MatteVelvet collection for Fall 2014. Some of these colors have been around for around three years now, but Zoya is including them in the fall collection for this year.
I have to admit that I am not really a matte type of person when it comes to nail polish, so for the pictures below, I added a top coat for the ring and pinky finger swatches, while leaving the index and middle finger swatches matte. This is great if you want to compare the two finishes side by side.
Here are the swatches of the Zoya matte nail polishes, and my thoughts on them.
Zoya Harlow
Zoya Harlow is described as a rich, saturated rose plum packed with sparkling metallic shimmer in a velvety mattevelvet finish. I like it and for some reason, I like it in the mattevelvet finish better than the shiny one.
Zoya Verushka
Zoya Verushka is an emerald green color in the mattevelvet finish. It looks lovely and the color is deep, opaque and saturated.
Zoya Posh
Zoya Posh is described as a medium cool wine red with metallic red shimmer in the mattevelvet formula. This is an amazing holiday and fall/winter color! Love Posh so much.
Zoya Savita
Zoya Savita is another older mattevelvet color. It is a royal purple color in the mattevelvet formula. If you love purples, this is definitely up your alley.
Zoya Loredana
Zoya Loredana is a medium gunmetal grey with silver shimmer in the mattevelvet formula. Another winner color from Zoya! This is an odd shade but very attractive, and quite edgy as well.
Zoya Dovima
Zoya Dovima is a charcoal black with silver shimmer in the mattevelvet formula. I like how edgy it is, especially when used matte (no topcoat).
All in all, if you love mattes, this collection is a definite must-have for you. Even if you are not into mattes, the colors really come alive when a top coat is added, as you can see in the swatches. I particularly love Veruschka, Dovima, Loredana and Posh.
Zoya Matte Velvet nail polish retails for $9.00 each and is available on Zoya.com.
