I was able to try the polishes from OPI's MLB (Major League Baseball Collection). It is a predominantly blue and red palette of colors that of course reflect the baseball league's predominant colors.
Here are the swatches of the OPI MLB collection and my thoughts on these.
OPI 7th Inning Stretch
OPI 7th Inning Stretch is a pretty metallic blue with a tinge of grey. Because it is frosty, it can be a bit streaky, but it is not as bad as other frosty shades. The strokes evened out on the second coat. I love this shade; it looks very pretty on the nails.
OPI Girls Love Diamonds
OPI Girls Love Diamonds is a sheer white metallic. It's quite sheer and you need three coats to make it opaque. It looks clean on the nails, but I am not a fan, just because I don't wear this color that often.
OPI Orange You Going to the Game?
OPI Orange You Going to the Game? is one of my favorites from this collection. It's a very pretty frosty/metallic orange. It has the same formula as OPI 7th Inning Stretch - a bit streaky but evens out on the second coat.
OPI Love Athletes in Cleats
OPI Love Athletes in Cleats is a beautiful red creme with gold-ish shimmer. This is a very pretty red, although you can't really see the shimmer unless you look closely.
OPI Right Off the Bat
OPI Right Off the Bat is a dark blue frost. It's not as frosty as the other two ones that I'd just mentioned. It is slightly darker than 7th Inning Stretch without the latter's grey undertones.
OPI Short-Stop!
OPI Short-Stop!
OPI Short-Stop! is a straight-up red creme. I love how easy this was to apply. I usually have a hard time evening things out when the color is way too vibrant like this red. However, this polish was a dream to apply.
All in all, I wish there were better variety of colors in this collection, but I do love how they created gorgeous reds. blues and even the orange in this particular collection. I am particularly loving Short-Stop!, Orange You Going to the Game?, 7th Inning Stretch.
This collection comes out in stores this April 2014, and retails for $9 each.
