OPI Holiday 2013: Mariah Carey Collection
I have posted my OPI Holiday 2013: Mariah Carey Swatches and Review Part 1 in a previous entry, so here are the rest of the swatches!
The thing I noticed about this second batch is that these are mostly reds. I don't know why there are so many reds or red-based nail lacquers in this collection. I know that red is the color of the holiday, but I just don't see why there's just so many reads - almost half of the collection is red-based. Don't get me wrong - the shades are very pretty and festive! I'd have loved to see more greens, coppers, bronzes or silvers, though.
OPI All I Want for Christmas is OPI
OPI All I Want for Christmas is OPI is your classic red cream that looks very holiday-ish! I can't wait to wear this as a mani or even a pedi color. The color is so bright, it even reminds me of poinsettias. Every brand has their own classic red cream, so I don't think this is very unique, but if you don't have a beautiful, classic red cream, consider this color; this is a staple and you should really get one.
OPI Cute Little Vixen
OPI Cute Little Vixen
OPI Cute Little Vixen is a cranberry color with tiny gold sparkle. It dries a bit matter than the other nail lacquers.
OPI In My Santa Suit
OPI In My Santa Suit is a very shiny, metallic bright red. This does remind me of the color and finish of Santa's suit - a very silky, shiny red.
OPI Underneath the Mistletoe
OPI Underneath the Mistletoe is a gritty mulberry red with tiny silver sparkle. This looks really uneven when applied, but you can probably even things out on the third coat.
OPI Sleigh Ride for Two
OPI Sleigh Ride for Two is my absolute favorite out of all the reds in this collection. This is not exactly red, but it does have a tinge of red. It looks like hot cocoa with a little bit of red with just the right amount of shimmer. Just gorgeous.
OPI Visions of Love
OPI Visions of Love
OPI Visions of Love is a burgundy wine color. Dark and vampy and perfect for fall and winter.
Overall, as I said, I think there are just way too many reds in this collection (although they are really pretty). Maybe I think that way because I have a lot of reds in my collection that I'm already red'd out, but I really do love some of them, especially Sleigh Ride for Two and In My Santa Suit. I didn't have any problems in applying them - formula is great, with the exception of Underneath the Mistletoe which applies uneven at first, given the jelly base.
