MAC Rick Baker Collection
I already created a Video Review on the MAC Rick Baker Collection, but here are my written thoughts on this collection. This is obviously a Halloween-themed collection from MAC, and what better way to showcase this collection than to highlight the work of Rick Baker, who is a special effects makeup artist. Rick Baker said in an interview with MAC that the difference between special effects makeup and fashion/editorial work is that his line of work revolves around making someone look uglier, fatter, hairier, older, whereas fashion/magazine work makes someone look better. This is definitely in line with the halloween season. Rick Baker created a collection with MAC featuring mostly MAC permanent and PRO products to create the perfect halloween look.
Let's start with the Pro Palette x 6.

I am pretty sure most of you are familiar with these shades. They are in the permanent collection, and they are some of the products that I pick up on a daily basis, so I like the fact that they are all in one little compact.
Omega is the quintessential matte transition color - a soft muted beige-taupe. It's great to apply on the crease a transition or blending color to mix the gradient colors in one seamless finish. Mylar is a creamy white with shimmer. Bitter is a nice pop of color in this otherwise too-neutral palette- a vivid green with shimmer in the velvet formula. Club is a classic beauty- a red-brown with green pearl in a satin formula. It's a duochrome with that back-of-a-beetle look.
Brun is a beautiful basic dark brown matte. It's great to fill in brunette brows, too. Carbon needs no explanation - an intense black matte.
All in all, I am loving this palette and will be a staple in my makeup arsenal. These are very basic shades for the perfect neutral or smoky eye, with a touch of vivid green for a nice pop of color.
MAC Paintstick in Black Black
MAC Paintstick in Black Black
MAC Paintstick in Black Black is the perfect greasy kind of black for your Halloween looks- but it can also work as a liner or as an eye shadow base to make a smoky eye, or to make your shadows pop. I might also get the Pure White painstick, as we all know that stark white is the perfect base to make your eye shadows look more vivid.
MAC Monster FX Tinted Mixing Medium
As the name suggests, the MAC Monster FX is meant to create a believable monster-like complexion. I don't know if I will be able to use it though because I prefer the clear one to mix pigments with.
MAC Acrylic Paints in Pure White and Black Black
MAC Acrylic Paints in Pure White and Black Black
Acrylic paints are great for doing all kinds of special effects on the body - but do you know that this is also great for nail art? All you need is a nail art brush, and you can create all kinds of nail designs using these.
MAC Chromagraphic pencils in Hi-Def Cyan and Black Black
MAC Chromagraphic pencils in Hi-Def Cyan and Black Black
I am really loving the MAC Chromagraphic pencils - they apply like butter on the skin, they are SO pigmented and the colors are rich. Black Black is one of the most pigmented pencil liners I have. Hi-Def Cyan is a beautiful bright aqua - perfect on the lower lashline for a nice pop of color (like the look I sported in my video review).
All in all, this is definitely for those who will sport their own monster look for Halloween, but many of these products can be used for every day, especially the chromagraphic pencils and the Monster's Bride palette.
