OPI just launched two new nail lacquers from its Designer Series collection. They are called Designer Series in the Raw Granite formula - beautiful matte textured finish with mineral-like reflections, hence the name Raw Granite. These are two of the more beautiful textured nail polishes from OPI that I've tried.
Below are my swatches of these two OPI DS Raw Granite nail lacquers, and my thoughts on them.
OPI Designer Series in Lapis is beautiful. It's a sapphire blue with flecks of silver in it, and it has a matte textured finish. It is breathtaking and perfect for the upcoming fall season. I also like how the subtle silver sparkles play against the dark blue hue.
OPI Designer Series in Pewter is even more beautiful than DS Lapis. It's described by OPI as a deep silver ore with a matte textured finish. I love, love, love the silver flecks against the dark grey background. It looks so edgy and yet attractive. This is again perfect for the fall season, and OPI DS in Pewter is my favorite OPI nail polish of late- I love the beautiful texture and how it looks subtle yet eye-catching.
DS Raw Granite lacquers should be worn without top coat for a matte finish, but it looks amazing with a shiny finish using a topcoat. DS Pewter and DS Lapis are available beginning September 2013 at professional salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com for $12.50 ($14.95 CAN) suggested retail for each nail lacquer.
