Call me whatever you want, but I really believe in a good night serum. I see a difference in my skin when I sleep with sallow, tired skin and uneven skintone. I really do believe that if I clean my face really well before I go to bed (I religiously use my Clarisonic to clean my face at night no matter how tired I am), my serum would get absorbed better into the skin and would work wonders while I sleep.
Sleep is our bodies' way to rejuvenate and repair the broken cells that occurred during the day.
I was able to try Estee Lauder's New Advanced Night Repair Serum with Synchronized Recovery Complex II . The company touts that as we sleep, this product has two ways of repairing the cells that were damaged during the day: Purification and Synchronization.
Purification- a nighttime repair that removes cellular debris that can accelerate premature signs of aging.
Synchronization - a natural process that ensures that the cellular repair happens at exactly the right time.
I have not tried this long enough to give an informed opinion on the brand's claims, but I can feel that in the two months that I've been using this every night, my skin feels softer, more radiant and translucent, without much of the hyperpigmentation from acne. Before I used this serum, I had a lot of discoloration on my chin due to acne scars. Now I feel like the dark spots have considerably lightened.
Take note that there is no such thing as a miracle product, and this serum is not one. It is important to note that for this product to work, one needs to take care of other aspects of their life, like getting sufficient sleep and having a good skincare regimen. If you don't clean your skin deeply and properly before you go to bed, the serum will not get absorbed into the skin to achieve optimum results. And I really do believe that a good night's sleep works wonders. I have been lacking sleep lately, and I know that my concentration and moods have been greatly affected.
As for this serum, a few drops on the tips of your fingers are enough for the whole face. A little goes a long way, and I'm glad about that because I want this product to last as long as possible. I let the product seep into my skin, wait for a minute or two before applying my eye and night cream. I also use this with some of my retinol/retinoids and it works well with them as well.
The New Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair with Synchronized Recovery Complex II is available at Estee Lauder counters and on esteelauder.com for $62 (1.0 fl. oz.) and $92 (1.7 fl. oz.)
