Two weeks ago, as I stated in a previous entry, I tried the Dove ClearTone ™ Skin Renew Deodorant Challenge. I mentioned that a lot of us ladies are conscious about how our underarms look. We love clear, smooth, unblemished underarms, but shaving, waxing, deodorant chemicals and residue can take their toll on our underarm skin. Hair ingrowns caused by shaving can also exacerbate the less-than-desirable conditions of our underarms. I have the unfortunate situation of having some discoloration on my underarms because of my ingrowns.
For two weeks, I've been using thethe Dove ClearTone™ Skin Renew Deodorant. Dove claims that not only does it provide 48-hour protection, but its unique formula accelerates the skin renewal process, helping to visibly reduce dark marks and even skin tone over time.
I wanted my underarms to go back to this state - obviously taken on my wedding day:
My underarms are not exactly super light in this photo, but the dark marks were merely from the natural folds and creases of the skin. For the most part, the shadows cast by the bouquet's ribbon made it look darker, but really, the skin was even-toned all throughout, and this was the best state my underarm has been. Of course, we want our underarms to look their very best on our wedding day, right? And I was really proud of mine that day!
As I mentioned in a previous entry, as for the anti-perspirant test, Dove passed with flying colors. I really like the Dove Clear Tone in Sheer Touch. It has a very clean scent and it makes me feel fresh and protected the entire day. In spite of the intense and humid heat this time of the year, it kept me dry and fresh-smelling.
I can honestly say that my dark spots due to hair ingrowns have considerably lightened in the two weeks I've been using Dove ClearTone™. Even my husband can attest to that. However, my underarms as still not as even-toned as they were on my wedding day, but I can forgive that because it's only been two weeks. I will continue to use Dove ClearTone™and I will update this review. The dark spots have considerably lightened and they're not as obvious as they were two weeks ago.
I have also stopped shaving and I'm now using an epilator, and that has probably helped keep my skin from getting darker, just because I don't get much ingrowns now. Shaving wreaks havoc on my sensitive underarm skin, and I swear not to go that route anymore.
All in all, I am pretty happy with my results from Dove ClearTone™Deodorant. My underarm skin looks brighter and more even-toned, and I really like the Sheer Touch scent; it keeps me feeling fresh and dry throughout the day.
Did you know? When underarm skin is irritated by shaving, it can respond by creating dark marks. The solution – NEW Dove® Clear Tone™ Pink Rosa Deodorant. With calendula and sunflower seed extracts, Dove® Clear Tone works with your body’s natural chemistry to visibly reduce dark marks in just 2 weeks* while providing 48-hour odor and wetness protection
*vs. basic deodorant roll-on without moisturizer, based on those who expressed preference in a survey.
