NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation
NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation in Light 6 Ceylan, Medium 1 Punjab

I was able to try NARS newest foundation that is out in the market today, called the NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation. It's been a while since I've tried a compact foundation, so I really didn't know what to expect about this product. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised at the packaging when I first got this. It came in this big rectangular compact that stretches lengthwise, where you get a little hole to pop your shade in (Editor's note: the compact is sold separately). The compact is just like their usual rubbery blush and eye shadow compacts, only bigger. It also comes with a separate compartment for your sponge to keep everything clean and sanitary. The cream foundation is housed in a small square that you can pop in your compact for convenient application.
I was able to try two shades, Light 6 Ceylan, and Medium 1 Punjab. The latter is my summer shade, as I definitely have a tan now. The Light 6 Ceylan is probably my winter shade.
I would have to say that I was definitely surprised with the texture. It is very, very creamy. I was told that you can use this product either wet or dry, so I used a moist foundation sponge to apply this on my face.

As you can see in the swatches, the product is very creamy! It also gives this beautiful, dewy finish. You can set it with a translucent finishing powder to set the foundation and to give a long-lasting finish.
I'd have to say that it held up pretty well under 109 degree weather where I live. I went out, cooked, baked, and yet my foundation stayed intact. I did have to re-touch after 8 hours, but for the heat this foundation had to go through, I'd say it did pretty good. I don't know if this will stay put on very oily skin, especially in humid heat, but I have combination skin and it stayed put in this very hot dry heat.
I recommend using a damp sponge in applying this foundation, and to apply it in light layers. It definitely helps if you layer thin layers rather than applying one thick, cakey layer.
I like the finish of this foundation - very creamy yet natural. As I said, I can't say if this will suit really oily skin, but it applied and wore well on my combination skin.
This product retails for $38 each. You can purchase the compact separately for $10 on narscosmetics.com.
