I was able to try out a very travel-friendly kit from tarte for a flawless face, especially during these hot days of summer.  This is a tiny kit that is perfect for on-the-go days when you can't be bothered with makeup before you walk out the door.  

The set comes with the following products:  three deluxe (small) tubes of tarte clean slate™poreless 12-hr perfecting primer, Amazonian Clay BB illuminating moisturizer, and a gifted™Amazonian clay smart mascara.

tarte claims that these three are their choicest products and their best sellers when it comes to creating a flawless face.  It's a travel kit that has all you need for a clean, smooth canvas for your makeup, while treating your skin with natural ingredients.

Let's start with the clean slate™poreless 12-hr perfecting primer:

The clean slate™poreless 12-hr perfecting primer is a nice, smooth face primer that really works.  It performs just like your regular silicone-based primer: it keeps your complexion appearing smooth and blurs imperfections and fine lines, while it makes your foundation last longer.  The great thing about this is that the size is just perfect for travel.  I hate bringing primer that's in a huge tube when I go out of town, so this is just the right size to go with my other travel-sized essentials.

The tarte Amazonian Clay BB illuminating moisturizer gives a glowy look to the skin without looking all shimmery or glittery.  It's definitely not a glitter or shimmer bomb, but just imparts a nice, radiant look to the complexion.  I wouldn't use this as a foundation because the coverage is very sheer, but this is more of a moisturizer with BB cream benefits.  I will use this as a moisturizer prior to applying makeup.

The tarte  deluxe-sized gifted™Amazonian clay smart mascara is the perfect mascara to carry in your purse for touch-ups.  It's a small sized tube that has a full-sized brush.  It is a carbon black mascara that lengthens the lashes and gives volume.  I have short, sparse lashes, so this is an okay product, but definitely not a miracle worker.  It does give enough volume and length to my short lashes to make them look decent.  

All in all, this is a good kit to bring with you for travel.  I have three essentials in this kit that I definitely won't go without on a daily basis - a face primer, a tinted moisturizer and mascara.  Everything else is just extra, but I definitely need these products to face the world everyday.
