I was excited to try these brow products out after I heard about the news from NARS. I've always been on the lookout for good brow products. I have thin brows so I need to fill them in constantly. I need brow products that would effectively style and shape my brows and put them in place the whole day. I want fool-proof and easy application, so I've been trying out brow products on a regular basis.

I welcome this new duo from NARS called the Brow Perfector and the Brow Gel. One is an angled brow pencil that can create sleek brow shapes and fill them in. The other is a Brow Gel that locks that hairs in place, and also makes the brow color stay put.

Let's start with the Brow Perfector. I used the Caucase shade, or the second to the darkest shade, which is a dark brown. It has an angled, oval tip for precise application and is good to custom-fill and shape varying eye brow widths. As you can see in the swatches, it deposits pigment smoothly on the skin. It feels waxy (obviously to help put hairs in place), but not overly waxy that it would be hard to apply or even out the pigment. It also has natural looking shade that is similar to my natural hair color.

I use the angled tip to create the borders of my brows, then I use the wider side to fill them in. I like to go up and then go toward the direction of the hair growth.

The Brow Perfector also advances and retracts easily for custom shaping and filling of brows. You don't need a sharpener.

The Brow Gel is a dark brown shade, and my color is Kinshasa. The Brow Gel easily applies on the hairs to keep them in place. This is great for those with unruly brows to tame the stubborn brow hair. I have to admit though, the Brow Perfector is so good that I use it alone, because I waxy product already puts my brow hairs in place. I only use the Brow Gel if I'm going swimming or going out all day in really humid weather.

All in all, I am liking the NARS Brow Perfector and Brow Gel duo.  I prefer to use the Brow Perfector every day, and only use the Brow Gel on occasion, especially when I need my brows in place when swimming or out in sticky, humid weather.  Other than that, I think the Brow Perfector is great in putting hairs in place aside from filling in and shaping the brows.

The NARS Brow Perfector and Brow Gel both retail for $22 each and are available on Narscosmetics.com.
