I was able to try the nail lacquers from Milani Cosmetics' new nail polish collection called Fantastical Plumage collection. Here are my thoughts on the brightly colored polishes that are perfect for summer.
Milani Peacock nail lacquer
Peacock is my favorite out of these colors, so much so that it was my the first polish I tried and wore from this collection. It's a pretty aqua cream. It's very bright and summery, and I think is the perfect poolside nail color.
This collection also features a black and white big hex and bar glitter called Carnival. Milani also features a more dense glitter topcoat with smaller black and white glitter, and it's called Sprinkles. For this post, I used both Sprinkles and Carnival glitter topcoats; description will be below the swatch photos.
Milani Purple Martin is a mid-tone purple cream. I like it because I am a sucker for purples. although I have to admit it's not too unique in my collection.
Milani Canary nail lacquer is so pretty! It's a beautiful canary (obviously) yellow cream. It's opaque in two coats, and this one screams summer! I had a hard time at first trying to make the application smooth and opaque, but things evened out on the second coat.
Milani Scarlet Ibis nail lacquer is my favorite out of all these (along with Peacock). It's such a beautiful orangey coral cream, and it was a dream to apply. It practically applied itself as it was quite easy to smooth on the nailbed.
Milani Blue Jay nail lacquer is a deep cobalt blue cream. Not my favorite on its own, but I guess this one is pretty with some holo glitter or white or silver stamped images.
All in all, I like the colors from this collection as they really herald the onslaught of the hot summer season. They will be available in August at your favorite Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS, Fred Meyer stores (although some stores may put these up for sale earlier.)
