MAC Tropical Taboo: Mineralize Blush and Mineralize Skinfinish Swatches, Review

(Media sample)

I was able to try some of the mineralize products from the MAC Tropical Taboo collection.  If you have not seen my video review of the MAC Tropical Taboo, click this link and it will take you there.
MAC Simmer mineralize blush

Swatches: Simmer mineralize blush burnt rose, peach-gold,
swirled colors

MAC Simmer swirled colors (blended)

I have only one blush from the Tropical Taboo collection, but I am really loving this one. It has swirls of burnt rose and a peachy gold. I love the combination of both. As you can see in the swatches, the blend of swirls yield a very gold-infused burnt rose effect. Love it.

MAC Rio MSF

I have been a collector of MAC's mineralized skinfinishes (MSF) for years now. At one point, I even had every MSF MAC has created, with the exception of Pleasureflush. I don't have a complete collection now, but I still have the majority. In this collection, I have all of the MSFs with the exception of Lust.

Soft and Gentle is part of the permanent collection, if I am not mistaken. It's described as a gilded peach bronze, but looks more like a light champagne to me. I think this is the best among the MSFs in this collection. The shimmer particles are very fine - the finish is really pretty on the cheeks or temples.

Adored is anothe nice one; it's a coral with light beige pearl. The shimmer is not as intense or metallic as that of Soft and Gentle. It has a shimmer but is very toned-down compared to Soft and Gentle.

Rio is a bronze with bright pink pearl. The finish is just like that of Adored, a soft shimmer as opposed to a metallic one.

Gold Deposit is one of the oldest MSFs I have, so a big chunk is gone. However, it's also pretty, a golden bronze metallic. It's even more metallic than Soft and Gentle, so if you don't want too frost-looking shimmers, you might want to avoid Gold Deposit. I think this is especially pretty on tanned skin.

All in all, I'm pretty partial to MSFs because these are some of my favorite products from MAC. The mineralize blushes are usually a hit and miss for me, but this time, I'm liking Simmer.

I will be posting a look using these blushes and MSFs, as well as a look using the mineralize eye shadows soon.
