I already posted my Video Review on the MAC Riri Hearts MAC Summer 2013 collection, but this one is all about my written thoughts and swatches of the Riri Hearts MAC Summer lipsticks.  As I'd mentioned in the video review, I feel sorry for those people who were not able to complete their online orders during the crazy online launch.  I hope stocks get replenished, as this is a very coveted lipstick collection.

The finish of these lipsticks is called retro matte, which might be because it's similar to the '20s-'30s pin-up lipstick look of Hollywood actresses.  It has a very matte but pigmented finish, so it's recommended to exfoliate the lips and moisturize prior to application of these lipsticks, as the matte finish tends to accentuate every line and imperfection on your lips.

On to the swatches!

MAC Riri Woo is described as a matte blue-based red lipstick.  It can look warm in my pictures, but  maybe because I used warm lighting.  MAC Riri Boy is a bright lavender matte lipstick, which is good  for my pink-purple makeup looks.  My favorite is MAC Heaux - a beautiful matte berry red lipstick.  It really complemented my skintone and is just the right shade of red with a tint of berry in it.  So pretty!

All in all, I understand why these lipsticks are very popular and coveted.  Not only are they inspired by Rihanna's lipstick choices, but they are pretty universal shades, especially MAC Riri Woo and Heaux.  The red just brightens the entire face and gives a beautiful pop of color on the lips that may look vampy but very feminine.  Now if people can only get these more easily!
