Imagine a creamier, more pigmented, glide-like-butter MAC shadestick.  Well, imagine no more because this is MAC's new Powerchrome Eye Pencil- their version of the chubby shadow sticks that we see almost every brand come up with.  These have the pigmentation, slip and texture of some of the more popular brands' versions like Urban Decay, at least, these two colors that I've tried.

You can use these Powerchrome eye pencils as shadows themselves, or you can use them as eye shadow bases for your powder shadows, to make the colors pop and become more vibrant.  I personally like to use these as colored bases for my powder shadows, also they are great to line the lower lashline as well.

Rich Glance is a light gold creamy pencil that is the perfect everyday lid color for me.   This is great to highlight the tearducts, or as a base on the lower lid to have a more vibrant, more refreshed-looking eye area.  It has a shimmery metallic finish that draws attention to the eye.

Polished Jet is described as a charcoal with pearl.  It is a dark, almost-black color but the pearl is quite visible, therefore this is not a matte finish.  I think this works well for a smoky-eye look or to line the lower-lashline.  However, since this is a cream, it's best to set it with a black powder shadow to prevent it from migrating.

Staying power is good without smudging or creasing, I'd say a good 7-8 hours.  I prefer to apply MAC Powerchrome Eye Pencil over an eye shadow base (preferably matte) for me to get the maximum staying power from it.

The only downside I can think of is that this is shorter and slimmer than some other brand's counterpart,  like for example the NYX Jumbo eye pencil.  It is definitely shorter than the shadesticks.  However, I like the formula so it kind of offsets its lack in "height".

The Powerchrome Eye Pencil from MAC retails for $21 U.S. / $25 CDN and is available May 23rd, although it's already out in PRO stores and online.
