I recently made a review on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Bold Beautiful Kit. This time, here's a kit from Anastasia that is exclusively about brows. I've mentioned in my previous reviews that I have been a fan of Anastasia brow powders for years. I've been using mine for 4 years now, and a little goes a long way. I like that the powder does not apply patchy at all on the hairs, so it doesn't seem like there are bald patches on the brows.
This was my first time to try a loose brow powder from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Genius Kit. It includes the following:
-Brow Wiz Loose Powder (I got the Medium Brown shade)
-Beauty Genius Clear Waterproofing Gel
-Double-ended brush and spoolie
I thought that the loose powder would be messy to use, but I was wrong. I was surprised that the powder really adhered to the hairs of the brush in order to deposit the most amount of pigment on the brow. I am very impressed with the way it glided on the brows without creating bald patches, and at the same time covering the area with smooth, rich pigment, just like the pressed version does.
The Beauty Genius Clear Waterproofing Gel is supposed to transform the Loose Powder into paste. Anastasia recommends that you mix Beauty Genius and the Brow Wiz Loose Powder together to make a paste. Anastasia prefers the mixed paste to look something like cake frosting - not too watery or too thick. Unfortunately, when I tried this product, I did not have time to do the mixing as I was rushing to go to work. However, even without the gel, the loose powder performed a lot better than I expected. As you can see in the swatches, the pigment is so rich and applied smoothly on the skin.
The gel is supposed to give you waterproof brows, but then the Loose Powder already created a long-wearing brow look. I will probably wear the gel for special occasions or when I go out swimming (because you see, you have to have great brows even when you don't have the slightest bit of makeup!). However, for everyday, the Brow Wiz Loose Powder is just amazing. I do am loving this product a lot.
