I already featured the NARS Mad Mad World Eye Shadow in my Video Post: NARS Spring 2013: Seduction Blush, Setting Powder and Mad Mad World Duo Swatches, Review. Now, it's all about product photos and swatches, and my written thoughts on the items I have from this collection.
As I'd mentioned in my video, this collection has a '90s vibe to it - the colors are strong, saturated, sexy and sultry. They are quite vibrant, but surprisingly very wearable too.
Swatches:
NARS Mad Mad World Eye Shadow Duo
The NARS Mad Mad World Eye Shadow duo features a vibrant parakeet green and a cyan blue. The cyan blue morphs into a deeper, more vibrant blue than how it looks like in the compact. The parakeet green looks so pigmented, but it's very wearable. Both of these shades are matte, which is perfect because if these bright shades are too shimmery or glittery, they would be a lot less forgiving. These are great both as shadows themselves or as liners. I used the green on my lower lashline in my eye look in my Video Review, and it looked great and defined my lashline without looking too in-your-face.
NARS Seduction Blush
The NARS Seduction blush is probably one of the prettiest NARS blushes that I own. I like it a lot more than NARS Orgasm! Orgasm is a bit too shimmery, while Seduction is a velvety matte. Use a light hand in applying because this product is quite pigmented.
NARS describes Seduction as a "sangria", and it is exactly how it's described. It's a rich, wine-colored blush that gives a beautiful lit-from-within look. I like to apply Seduction using a stippling blush brush for a whisper-like application for the lightly flushed look.
The best thing is that NARS Seduction blush is now part of the permanent line. Yay!
NARS Light-Reflecting Setting Powder
The NARS Light-Reflecting Setting Powder is a translucent loose powder aimed to blur imperfections and diminish the appearance of fine likes to create the illusion of perfect skin. I honestly like how it makes my face look less greasy and yet does not cake it on. It makes for a great setting or touch-up powder.
This loose Light-Reflecting Setting Powder is now available at NARS boutiques and narscosmetics.com, but they have a pressed version which just launched in stores today, February 1st.
Note: Media sample was provided by a representative of the brand for consideration. All opinions are completely mine.
