Have you ever wished for a two-in-one nail polish - a nail lacquer that has two shades in one bottle? I think the China Glaze powers-that-be heard many a nail polish junkie's wish and developed a collection of nail lacquers that has two different shades in each bottle - a shade on its own and an altogether different shade after applying topcoat. This collection is called Tranzitions.
Tranzitions creates a deeper shade of the same nail lacquer color when topcoat is applied over it. Every nail polish becomes shinier when topcoat is applied, but this nail polish becomes a deeper version of its color without topcoat.
Here are my swatches and thoughts on the China Glaze Tranzitions collection:
China Glaze Split Perso-Nail-ity is a pretty, feminine light pink without topcoat and a deep berry with topcoat. I applied topcoat on the ring finger tip and dotticure on the middle finger to show how the topcoat varies the polish, This is one of my favorites from the collection. I love the light pink with blue undertones.
China Glaze Modify Me (index and ring finger with topcoat; middle and pinky fingers without topcoat)
China Glaze Modify Me is a beautiful cornflower shimmery blue without topcoat, and a mid-tone blue with topcoat. I do love the shade without the topcoat better, though.
China Glaze Altered Reality (index and ring finger with topcoat; middle and pinky fingers without topcoat)
China Glaze Altered Reality is a metallic teal. I don't see much difference between with and without topcoats, just a slightly deeper shade is apparent when topcoat is applied.
China Glaze Duplicity (index and ring finger with topcoat; middle and pinky fingers without topcoat)
China Glaze Shape Shifter (index and ring finger with topcoat; middle and pinky fingers without topcoat)
China Glaze Metallic Metamorphosis (index and ring finger with topcoat; middle and pinky fingers without topcoat)
China Glaze Metallic Metamorphosis is a metallic platinum without topcoat, and a deep grey metallic with topcoat. I equally like both shades[ very pretty and the dark shade looks edgy as well.
I gotta say that I LOVE the formula of this line! It applies really creamy on the nails and very obedient - no pooling at the cuticles and minimal streaking even with the metallic colors. I just love how opaque these are in just one coat. This is one of the best formulas from China Glaze that I've tried.
All in all, I am really loving the China Glaze Tranzitions collection. I love the freedom to choose which shade you want to use in every bottle, and I love the easy application and amazing opacity of the shades.
