I mostly have a lot of skincare for my face and around my eyes, but I don't have a lot of skincare products for my lips. In fact, I think the only products I have to care for my lips are lip balm and lip scrub. This was the reason why I was quite excited to try the VENeffect Anti-Aging Lip Treatment.
VENeffect is a skincare line founded by sisters Rebecca Booth M.D., a gynecologist and hormone wellness specialist, and Cecil Booth, who has been in the beauty industry as a marketing specialist. The concept for VENeffect Anti-Aging Skin Care was the result of the combination of Cecil's experience in the beauty category and her sister Rebecca's experience as a doctor of women. Their joined understanding, together with over seven years of research and development, has led to this new skin care line that for addresses the signs of hormonal aging.
The VENeffect website describes how the skincare line addresses the challenges of hormonal aging:
How it Works:
As we age, the influence of estrogen declines resulting in loss of collagen in our skin and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
VENeffect is the only anti-aging line formulated with a unique and powerful blend of 100% natural phytoestrogens to enhance collagen and improve elasticity in skin.
The VENeffect skincare line has a whole gamut of skincare product to target the usual signs of aging, but this particular post focuses on the Anti-Aging Lip Treatment. This product contains phytoestrogen technology which visibly reduces the appearance of vertical lines and makes the surface of the lips feel smooth, soft and plump.
I was actually amazed when I first tried this product. I could immediately feel my lips lose the rough patches. It felt really soft, smooth and supple. It reminded me of my lip primer, only that this felt smoother on the lips. It doesn't really operate like a lip balm in the sense that you feel greasy product sitting on your lips, but you can really feel VENeffect Anti-Aging Lip Treatment being absorbed into the skin. I also notice that it slightly reduces the appearance of vertical lines, although my deep horizontal lines are still there, which I think is just the natural grooves of my lips and are here to stay.
I have not seen very dramatic results as I have not yet used this in a long period of time to make an informed opinion, but I do know that this does make my lips look and feel supple, smooth and plumper.
All in all, if you want a smoother looking pair of puckers, this product might be for you, especially if you see your lips as a problem area. I would definitely use this regularly because I hate lipstick (especially the matte ones) bleeding into the fine lines and outside the boundaries of my lips.
I think the only downside I can think of is the price. This product retails for $85 per 0.34 fl oz/10ml, so it is a bit pricy. However, you do get what you pay for. Over time, the loss of collagen makes our lips feel dry, rough and thin, so if this product will infuse moisture and plumpness to the lips, it's worth it.
