TATCHA Donates $25 of Each Sale of BCA Silk Cream to BreastCancer.Org

For this month of October, TATCHA, an innovative skincare line, is donating $25 of each sale of TATCHA's Limited Edition BCA Moisture Rich Silk Cream to BreastCancer.org.

The TATCHA line is derived from three centuries of geisha tradition. For centuries, geishas have perfected the art of beautiful skin. This Japanese skincare line aims to recreate the geisha skincare ritual for the modern woman.

According to their website, they explored scientific journals, unearthed historical archives and studied the ageless beauty rituals of the iconic geisha to shed light on a highly evolved approach to beauty. TATCHA rediscovered their coveted daily regimes in a 200-year-old manuscript, written in the twilight of Japan’s Edo Period. Patterned after these ancient rituals, TATCHA uses green teas, Okinawa red algae, rice bran and other time-tested ingredients for their products.

The Silk Cream is my favorite product from the line. Contrary to what I first thought, this is not a rich cream. It is very moisturizing but weightless, because it is more of like a liquid-gel and not a heavy cream. It contains liquid silk, squalane, royal jelly + HADASEI-3 Bioactive Complex.

The scent is very spa-like, very Zen-ish if you must. It is similar to some of the gel moisturizers I've tried. It's very silky and smooth and moisturizes the skin, but it is not heavy. This is great for people who hate the feeling of greasy, oily moisturizers. The great thing about this product is that it has been tested to be non-irritating, non-sensitizing, and dermatologist-tested. IT is formulated without mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, sulfate detergents, parabens, PEGs, PPGs, urea, DEA, TEA or phthalates.

Pricing: $150 for 50 ml/1.7 oz

Availability: TATCHA.com and select Barneys New York locations.

I will be coming up with a review of a couple more TATCHA skincare products so stay tuned.

Note: Media sample was provided by a representative of the brand for consideration. All opinions are completely mine.
