Wearing Tarte Maracuja lipgloss in Shari over a neutral pink lipstick
I was able to try this huge gift set from Tarte that contains not just 5, not 10, but 15 different shades of the Tarte Maracuja lipgloss. I was actually blown away when I saw this set, just because you have 15 different shades to play with, OR you can give the entire 15-piece set to someone as a gift, OR you can split it up and give one pack of 5 to three people as stocking stuffers or holiday presents. The choices are endless, both as to what shades to try and things to do with this set.
Each five maracuja lip gloss comes in their own box, so the pack comes in 3 smaller boxes that you can give away, or of course can keep for yourself. I identified each sub-box according to the shades inside each one. The first one is the Peaches and Pink set, the second is the Pink set, and the third is the Pink and Plum set.
Let's go to the formula first. I just want to note that I love everything about the maracuja oil from Tarte. I am in love with the Tarte Maracuja 12-Hour Miracle Foundation. I love how it gives a beautiful, flawless finish while nourishing my skin and not budging the entire day even under the heat of the sun. I also love the Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil that I use on my face before I go to bed, and I wake up to supple skin in the morning. That said, it's no wonder that I like the Maracuja lipgloss. They go on slightly tacky with a tingling sensation, but I don't think these are lip plumpers. They just have a minty feel but they don't sting my lips. The pigmentation is not too opaque, but the darker ones do lend a bit of color on the lips. I have pigmented lips so these go on pretty sheer, especially the light shades. However, they still give color to my lips, and I use them to layer over lipsticks for a luscious lip effect.
All in all, if you love a variety of glosses that have a high shine, this set is for you. If you like more opaque glosses, stay away from this one. I personally like sheerer glosses with lots of shine to layer over my already opaque lipsticks.
You can purchase this set at ULTA stores for $32 per set.
