I have already posted entries on MAC By Request Lipstick Swatches and Review: Rocker, Candy Yum-yum, Moxie, as well as MAC By Request Lipglass Swatches and Review: Bait, Cult of Cherry, Flash of Flesh. This time, it's all about the eye shadows. I think this is the best category from the MAC By Request collection. The voters did a fantastic job in voting for the shadows that they think are cult classics and should be brought back one last time. The shadows are diverse and suit a wide variety of complexions and eye colors. These are also some of my favorite MAC shadows of all time.

Guacamole is one of my top favorite or THE most favorite green shadow from MAC. It is not as shimmery as Lucky Green, which is pretty as well, but the light to mid-tone green of Guacamole has a nice look to it, especially since it has subtle gold pearl that looks really pretty when worn. It is not as shimmery as Lucky Green and more subtle, but still packs quite a punch. This is lovely either as a lid, crease or even as liner on the lower lashline. I have one from the collection it came out in, so I always reach for this when I am doing a green eye look. I even had to pay an arm and a half to get this way back then because this was a highly-coveted color. I am so glad MAC is bringing this back.

Jeté is a nice sandy coral that is perfect for an all over lid wash of color. I use this interchangeably with All That Glitters for that clean, bright eyed look. It is in the Veluxe Pearl formula which is one of the most popular finishes of MAC shadows because it has a rich, velvety texture and the pigmentation is good. This is going to be a staple in many MAC fans' neutral palettes.

Finally, Moth Brown. I think this is the star of the collection. I first got this in the MAC Barbie collection, but for some odd reason that I could never remember, I swapped it away. Stupid me. Well I have one now and I will never let go of this. This is a beautiful, multi-dimensional shade. It is described as a metallic soft grey/brown frost, but it looks plum, purple or charcoal depending on the angle you look at it. The nuances in this shadow are just beautiful. Since it is a crease color, you can create so many beautiful looks with it and it can go with any shade, whether neutral or otherwise. Gorgeous.

All in all, I am pleased with the choices of the voters when it comes to the eye shadows. They voted the right products to be brought back for one last hurrah. I am loving these shadows and will use them often. I will create a look (and possibly a tutorial) using these shadows so stay tuned!

MAC By Request Eye Shadows are $15 each ($18 CDN) and are available online starting August 13th while supplies last.
