Bare Minerals READY SPF 20 Foundation Review

It's here!

It's what everyone's been waiting for!

...for forever.

READY?

New Bare Minerals READY SPF 20 Foundation!

Okay, seriously you guys...I think I have found the pressed powder/foundation of my dreams!  It's none other than the new Bare Minerals READY SPF 20 Foundation.  A lot of you may know that I am a mineral makeup fiend...I've lived and breathed mineral makeup for 5 years now, and it's been loving my skin because it's the gentlest, purest form of makeup for my skin, and it never fails to soothe and protect my acne-prone skin from breakouts. We do know the downside of mineral makeup and that is the loose, messy form that it usually comes in. With my favorite bareMinerals Original loose foundation, I get to have the perfect face, but I'd wished the minerals were in a more compact, travel-friendly form.

NOW, that same formula I've known and used throughout the years is now in solid, pressed form! The Powers That Be heard mineral makeup addicts' prayers!

NEW Angled buffing brushes in full size and retractable compact to go along with the NEW bareMinerals READY foundation

Left- with Bare Minerals READY SPF20 Foundation, Right- no makeup

Instead of the Swirl, Brush, Tap and Apply steps, we now use a shorter version of these steps when using the new foundation compact:

Using the new angled buffer brush from bareMinerals, just lightly tap the angled buffer brush on the foundation until bristles are lightly coated. Then, lightly buff onto skin in gentle strokes.

bareMinerals claims that this product has long-wear coverage for up to 12 hours with a no-makeup look and feel. I was able to try this during these hot, 112-degree days of summer in the desert, and this product held up excellently despite the scorching heat. It feels lightweight and does not clog my pores at all. In fact, it has replaced my favorite powder compact in my makeup kit as my go-to touch-up powder. I re-touch my makeup during the day it makes my skin look just flawless. I can use this both as my foundation, touch-up powder, or even as a finishing powder. This is such a versatile product, and I love it more because of that.

bareMinerals also claims that it has Time-released mineral hydration system is clinically proven to increase skin hydration by 108% after 12 hours, and contains SeaNutritive Mineral™ Complex, a concentrated blend of mineral- and antioxidant-rich algae and seaweed, diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a younger-looking complexion

Best of all, and this is the reason why I fell in love with mineral makeup in the first place, bareMinerals is formulated without preservatives, talc, waxes, binders, filler and fragrances.

Wearing Bare Minerals READY SPF20 Foundation as finishing powder

I just love how lightweight it feels on my face. It is a staple product in my makeup bag and I bring it with me everywhere I go. I love the convenience of the compact with all the skincare benefits of the original bareMinerals loose makeup.

bareMinerals READY SPF 20 Foundation will be available in September 2012 with a range of 20 shades for $29 a pop. This will be available at Sephora and BareMinerals.com.

Hi! Aside from Bare Minerals, I also use Joppa, Buff'd and Lauress. Hope that helps!

If you feel alergic to the BareMinerals one it's probably the Bismith Oxychloride in it. I have the same problem. It's found in many powder foundations. Many people have a problem with it. The BareMinerals Matte foundation doesn't contain that ingredient. The pressed ones MAY not, too. Just check the label of any powder foundation for it. I am very sure that is what is making you have problems. It did for me and I had to do research to find out it was that and that it was common.

Do you think there is a difference on the amount of coverage one can get with this pressed formula? What I like about the loose mineral formula is that it's buildable yet I feel like the product amount can last me a long time. I'm worried that the pressed formula would require more build-up and would run out faster. Do you notice good coverage with just one swipe?

Best news ever! I've been wearing Bare Minerals for almost 8 years and have wished for this over and over. The other Ready products I already love and can't wait to add this to them. Thanks for the sneak peek!!!!
