Undress Me Multiple, Outlaw Blush
High Society trio eye shadow, Vent Glacé duo eye shadow
I was able to try a few products from the NARS Fall 2012 offering. This collection features a lot of icy jewel tones that connote cooling weather, as well as silvers and greys that also remind us of winter and fall. It features different kinds of eyes, lips, and cheek products, and one very interesting multi-tasking product, the popular Multiple. Here are my thoughts on some of the products that I was able to try:
High Society eye shadow trio (limited edition), $45
High Society
High Society eye shadow trio is definitely the star of the collection. It has gorgeous lavender, deep purple shimmer and a forest green (or a dark military green) shadows. In an interview with Francois Nars, he mentioned that although lavender is typically a spring shade, he incorporated a shimmery texture to these shadows, so that the icy shimmer connotes fall and winter. Also, the deep forest green lends a sort of autumn or winter feel to the palette. I am really liking the color combinations; I like the pairing of the jewel tone of the purple and the dark forest green.
As to the texture, they are really smooth and glide easily on the skin. The lavender has this satin feel to it and is a very nice lilac, the forest green is deep, pigmented and rich. The star of the trio is the iridescent amethyst, a beautiful purple with lots of shimmer. I can see myself wearing the lavender as a wash on the entire lid, with the amethyst shimmer in the crease and outer V, and the forest green to blend on the crease lightly and to line the lower lashline. As with most NARS shadows, with a good base, these last the whole day on the lids without creasing or fading. Beautiful trio, definitely.
Vent Glacé duo eye shadow, $34

This Vent Glacé duo eye shadow is not only for fall and winter, but is great as an all-year round product because of its neutral shades. I like the icy silver and smoky platinum in this duo. This product is named after the French term for "icy wind". I like to use the taupe/smoky platinum as a lid color. I can pair it with deep greys and matte black to smokify it, or with cool browns or taupes to create a neutral eye. I really love this duo. It is very versatile and you can create a myriad of looks using this one. The silver shade works great as a brow or inner corner highlight.
Undress Me Multiple, $39

I think the Undress Me Multiple is my favorite product from this bunch. It really does connote cooler weather with its icy nude pink with silver shimmer. This Multiple can be used on eyes, cheeks, lips— hence the term "Multiple". You can use it any where a luminous glow is desired. I like to use this on the top of my cheekbones or even the hollows of my cheeks. This would also make a great shimmer to add to the center of the lower lip or cupid's bow for a luscious lip effect. The packaging screams convenience - you can have this in your purse for quick touch-ups and you don't need a brush to apply the product.
Outlaw blush

Outlaw has been part of the NARS core blush collection for years, but it's still a popular shade. It is a soft rose-toned blush with golden shimmer. It is a darker and rosier version of Deep Throat. Love this blush. With a light hand this is a gorgeous lit-from-within rosy flush with gold shimmer. As most of us know, NARS blushes have amazing staying power. I have quite a few in my collection and they have the longest-staying power as compared with my other blushes.
All in all, I am liking this products from the NARS Fall 2012 that I was able to try. I like the combination of rich, jewel tones with icy shimmery shades because these contrasting textures and shades complement each other. I like all these, but I am a bit partial to the Undress Me multiple.
I will be coming up with a look and possibly a tutorial using the NARS Fall 2012 products, so stay tuned!
