China Glaze Fall 2012 On Safari Swatches and Review Part 1

Here are a few of the polishes from the China Glaze Fall 2012 On Safari collection. I will be swatching the rest of the shades from this collection so stay tuned!

China Glaze Elephant Walk

Elephant Walk is probably my favorite shade from this collection. This is such a difficult shade to describe. It might be cool grey at one angle and a cool greyish blue in another. Whatever this shade is, it really flatters my complexion very well. I love how understated it looks and yet it is eye-catching as well. It is quite opaque in two coats, and you can probably get away with just one coat. It applies like a dream and didn't give me a difficult time.

China Glaze I Herd That (first two fingers were 3 coats of I Herd That, last two fingers were 3 coats of I Herd That over a nude cream polish)

As I'd mentioned, I tried I Herd That without a base and with a nude cream base. I prefer it layered over a nude cream as the color is much more vibrant and alive. It is a clear base with clear, gold and holo glitter. Pretty if you like glitter polishes.

China Glaze Purr-fect Plum

I don't really care very much for this shade. It is described as a bold burgundy but it is more of a red-based purple plum. Quite dark and since I'm not a big fan of red-based purples, I am not really loving this.

Jungle Queen

Jungle Queen is hands-down the star of the collection, just because it reminds a lot of people of Chanel Paradoxal or Revlon Perplex which I own. It is a greyed purple (grurple?) with flashes of pink and purple when light hits it. Very pretty and very fall.

The formula of these is great, just because they are especially opaque to my eyes, and also because they apply easily and did not streak. I especially love Elephant Walk and Jungle Queen from this batch. I can wear these two shades anywhere - from a conservative boardroom to a bar - and they would still look appropriate and lovely for the occasion.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.25 out of 5
