OPI Pure Lacquer Nail Apps Pre-Cut Nail Strips Swatches and Review

Nail art in a snap with no dry time? Sounds too good to be true? Not really. I was able to try some of OPI's Pure Lacquer Nail Apps. These are precut nail strips made of 100% real nail lacquer – providing zero dry time. They have them in both cream and shimmer finishes and are available in 14 different styles. I have three of the designs in the shimmer category: the super gorgeous snakeprint, the dot design and the zebra pattern. It comes in 16 strips per package, and was quite easy to use.
All you need to do is peel off the backing and the film on top, make sure that your nails are clean and dry before applying the nail strips. Smooth the Nail Apps on your nailbeds and file off the edges in a downward motion. For best results, this product should not be finished with top coat. However, OPI said you can even apply a gel topcoat and cure it under UV light for these nail strips to last at least two weeks!
As you can see, the designs are funky and amazing. I especially like the snakeprint and the dotty designs. They apply easily and you have a lot of nail strips (16 per packet), so you still have extras should you make mistakes. The downside for me is that since I have super small nailbeds, the sides of the nail strips are too wide for me, which are difficult to cut. The top edges are easy to trim and cut according to your nail length, but if your nails are too narrow, then you might have a problem.
If you have bigger nailbeds, these are going to be perfect for you. I have almost child-like hands, so this is probably an issue that will affect a small group of people (assuming you won't use these on kids). Nonetheless, I think the concept is great and perfect for people who don't have the time or dedication to do their own nail art. There are a lot more designs to choose from (14 in all), so I'm pretty sure everyone will find a design that will pique each one's interest.
All in all, this is a nice change from nail lacquers in bottles. These are real nail lacquers in strips without the inconvenience of drying times. They are also easily removed with nail polish remover. I see more and more people who use these nail art strips, so I think this trend will be around for a pretty long time.
OPI Pure Lacquer Nail Apps are available at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for the suggested retail price of $11.95.
