Let me share with you one of my favorite serums of late. I am a fan of Vitamin C serums because they make my skin look brighter and more radiant, and at the same time help to counter the effects of hyperpigmentation on my skin.
The Murad Active Radiance Serum featuring Resilient-C Complex™ is part of Murad's Treat/Repair line. The company claims that it helps enhance collagen production and protects against free radical damage. I do have acne scars but this serum makes the dark spots look lighter and eventually disappear. I love using this after cleansing and prior to my application of retinoids at night. I use prescription-strength retinoids but this does not clash with the retinoids' properties.
The ingredients according to Amazon:
-Resilient-C Complex™: Delivers highly stable vitamin C to improve skin radiance helps enhance collagen production ad protects against free radical damage.
-Ectoin: Helps cells resist drastic environmental stresses including UV exposure high temperatures and chemical aggressors.
-AHAs and Myrtle Extract: Encourage new cell growth and help boost cellular vitality.
Since this is a Vitamin C serum, I did notice a slight tingling the first few times I tried this, maybe because my skin was still getting used to the active ingredient which we all know is an acid. I wait for a few minutes to let the product get absorbed into the skin before applying retinoids, then a moisturizer, night cream or complexion oil afterwards to seal in the serum and moisture.
I did notice that after a few times of using this, my skin is brighter and looks more refreshed. I am liking this serum a lot. I don't know if this actually clears acne, but I do vouch for its brightening properties. Be sure to always moisturize and use sunblock when using this product.
The price is steep at $89 per 1 fl. oz., but I've seen that prices vary online so you just might want to check them out.
The Shades Of U Rating: 4.5 out of 5
