FairyDrops Scandal Queen Mascara Review
Wednesday, May 2, 2012
Please note: I have the sparsest, shortest lashes in the world. I envy those who have really long, lush, doll-like lashes. Blame it on my asian genes! I have tried a lot of mascaras, but somehow only a few deliver the results I want. Right now, false lash is my best friend. However, when a mascara does more than what I have come to expect, I just have to shout it out to the world.
I was able to try the FairyDrops Scandal Queen mascara a few months ago, and I have not stopped loving the results. It has a volumizing, sweat and water-resistant formula that is a cult favorite in Japan and has hit western shores. It has a very unique brush, so much so that it is patented in Japan. It was created by a Japanese TV personality Aya Yasuda, and I want to thank her for that, from one asian girl to another! Only a fellow asian can understand how fine asian lashes are. The unique brush easily catches the tiniest lash hairs and amp them up in volume and length.
Simply put, this is one of the best mascaras I've tried. They may look clumpy on close-up, but my lashes look more lush in person.
This formula also stays on all day without smearing, smudging or clumping. I live in one of the hottest areas in the United States during summer, and I don't come home to raccoon eyes after a long, hot day outside. I also love how dark and black the formula is. This also gives a pretty curled lash look that stays on virtually all day. The only downside is that you need to wipe the tip of the brush on a tissue to prevent a clumpy look, but other than that, this is very good for short, sparse lashes.
All in all, this mascara is definitely holy grail status for me. I think it's worth the $24 price tag, and if Japanese women who have asian lashes like I do love this, then it's really a no-brainer. The bonus is that this product does not contain sulfates, phthalates, synthetic dyes, GMOs and Triclosan.
You can purchase this at Sephora stores and Sephora.com.
