Roger & Gallet Rose Fragrance Review

When I usually think of rose water or rose fragrance, I think of overly cloying, granny scents. When I was asked to review rose fragrance, I feared that it would be just like those strong rose scents that usually give me a headache. Then I sniffed Rose & Gallet's Rose Water Fragrance, and I was proven wrong.

The main thing that differentiates this product from other rose fragrances is that the head note which is rose, of course, is balanced by a significant amount of citrusy notes, specifically mandarin orange. Heart and base notes are peony and rosebud.

I think that even though this is a floral scent, it still smells fresh and light. It's definitely not cloying as the other rose scents I've tried in the past. The drydown is also very nice- a mix of light rose, peony and citrus notes perk me up.

This rose water falls under "Relaxing" on the Rose & Gallet website. It evokes thoughts of lazy Saturday and Sunday afternoons just lounging around.

All in all, I can honestly say that I really like this fragrance. The water consistency is perfect for warm spring and summer days. Despite the watery consistency, the fragrance lingers on the skin for a few hours, which is great because it doesn't just dissipate after an hour or two.

This product retails for $50 for a 3.3 oz. bottle on the Rose & Gallet website. The 1 oz bottle can be purchased for $30 but it is currently out of stock.
