Here's Part 2 of The Shades Of U's MAC Chen Man series. This collection features three mineralize eye shadow duos in really cute and apt yin & yang designs. Supersweet has a half-melange for bronze, pink and gold, and the other half is a solid gold pink frost. Pink Union is half-taupe, lavender and brown melange, and half solid dark violet frost. Love Cycle reminds me of Sea & Sky mineralize shadow from the Electroflash collection: Love Cycle has half light blue, white, and dark blue melange, and half solid dark royal blue frost. It is very similar to Sea & Sky below:

What I like about this batch of mineralize shadows is that they are not full melanges. I'm growing tired of melanges as I really don't know how they would translate on the skin. I like that MAC included solid shades because I gravitate more towards solid-colored mineralize shadows.

I am feeling the solid colors in Pink Union and Love Cycle, as well as the melange in Pink Union. That means I love Pink Union the best, right? lol I can see the uniqueness in the taupe, lavender and brown melange in Love Union, but the solid deep violet is breathtaking. As many of you know, these mineralize shadows can be made more metallic and brighter by foiling them (adding a mixing medium like MAC Fix+ or water-based mixing medium to a brush and applying the product damp on the lids). I do not recommend water for foiling because it makes the shadows look chalky and powdery once the water dries.

All in all, I think these are pretty good shades, although they are no very unique. I would go for Pink Union if you love taupes and purples, and Love Cycle if you like blues.

Naval Blue Pigment, Reflects Blue Reflects Glitter

Naval Blue pigment is a nice deep blue that I would love to use on the outer V or crease, and as a liner. These are the kinds of blues that are not tacky but very easy to use, and easy on the eyes as well. This would work with deep greys and even blacks for a nice blue-based smokey eye.

As for the reflects glitter, it doesn't translate well in the photos because it's supposed to be that way. It should emit a nice sparkle to the skin that would reflect blue (hence the name). These are tiny micro-glitter that enhances any makeup (whether on the eyes or cheeks or even decolletage), and the glitters impart a very sexy sparkly look. I would love to use this on the lids after doing a smokey or dramatic eye look, just to lighten and brighten that area. The inner corners of the eyes would also be a great place to add these, but I would apply this with a mixing medium to tame the small particles and prevent them from flying into the eyes.

All in all, I love the purple and blue-based eye products of this collection. I would have loved to have more choices of mineralize shadows, but I understand that this is just a small collection. I still prefer neutral shades like those from MAC, Naturally, but this is a nice pop of color that we all need once in a while.
