Budding Love lipstick and lipglass
Swatches:
Budding Love lipstick and lipglass
Force of Love lipstick and lipglass
I played with some shades from the MAC Chen Man collection, named after the star of the Chinese photography world who rose to prominence after doing a series of covers for China's avante-garde fashion magazine. MAC describes this collaboration as "bold, sensual and lyrical". For the first part of The Shades Of U's Chen Man series, the lipstick and lipglass duos in Force of Love and Budding Love are featured.
I think this is one of the few instances aside from Viva Glam where MAC called coordinating lipstick and lipglass the same name. Budding Love is aptly named, as this is a light lavender, kinda like a budding flower in color. Force of Love lipstick is an amazing matte honeysuckle pink, while the lipglass is of course its coordinating shade. When I went to my MAC store, the Force of Love lipstick's already sold out. These kinds of shades (and maybe the matte texture) are so highly coveted at MAC that these bright lippies get sold out almost immediately. Anybody can see why, though. This will really brighten any kind of skintone, and thus it is pretty universal. Budding Love on the other hand is a nice spring shade, perfect to go with neutrals or even a smokey eye, as it is light enough to balance a dramatic eye look.
Must have for me is the Force of Love lipstick. It looks just gorgeous!
Stay tuned for other MAC Chen Man reviews coming soon.
