Face Palettes: Nine-to-Five, Girls' Night Out, Walk in the Park
Here's another tarte set that can get you in the mood for another round of partying even after the holidays. The tarte Putting On the Glitz Clutch and Face Palettes include not one, not two, but three snap-in palettes with 18 eye shadows, a blush, a shimmering powder, a bronzer, lipgloss and your own clutch to place them in. You can interchange the palettes that you want to place in the clutch according to your whim. It also comes with a Maracuja-infused gloss, and a "Get the Look" mini-brochure for tips on how to achieve the perfect eye looks using these palettes.
Let's take a closer look at the palettes.
Walk in the Park (six eyeshadows and a bronzer):
Walk in the Park Swatches:
Last swatch: Park Ave Princess Amazonian clay bronzer
My Take: I am liking Walk in the Park palette because the colors are very wearable. Park Ave is a very nice shimmering bronzer that is great for light to medium skintones. My favorites would have to be the deep forest green, dark browns and the matte highlighter. This is actually my favorite palette out of the three because the colors and shades are very versatile. I also love the matte highlighter. Since many of these shades are quite shimmery, the matte yellow-toned highlighter balances out the eye look.
Girls' Night Out:
Girls' Night Out Swatches (six eyeshadows and one Amazonian clay shimmering powder):
Last swatch: Amazonian clay shimmering highlighter
My Take: Girls' Night Out, as the name says, is perfect for those nights out with friends. The shades are sexy, smoky, and perfect for making the sultriest eye look. I am really liking the combination of the shimmery taupish pewter-smoky lilac and the matte dark purple. It's an amazing combination. This palette contains six eyeshadows and the Amazonian clay shimmering powder. I am also liking the dark greens included in this palette. I never new purple and green can look great together!
Nine to Five Palette (six eyeshadows and one Amazonian clay 12-hr blush):
Nine to Five Swatches:
Last Swatch: Amazonian clay 12-hr blush
My Take: I am liking the two vibrant shades in this palette, the first two on top (the coppery and the plummy). The next two are shimmery shadows that can be good lid colors. Sometimes when I can't think on anything to put on my lid, these are instant eye refreshers to make you look more awake. The pink Amazonian clay blush is really pretty. We all know how amazing these Amazonian clay blushes are, and people from all over bloglandia and YouTube have been raving about these. To get one of these along with 18 shadows and a gloss, bronzer, highlighter, gloss and clutch for $48 is a steal.
All in all, I think this Puttin' on the Glitz set is a great deal, especially if you think about how much product you are getting. I also like that one gets an instruction card for you to have a guide on how to create amazing looks. Some people don't like this set because many of the shadows are pretty shimmery. I would have to agree that there is a number of shadows with shimmer, but there are also some with satin and matte finishes. I also like to match the shimmery with the matte ones to balance the eye look. I also think that tarte has gotten better with the pigmentation of their eyeshadows. For some reason, I think the shadows in these palettes apply better on the skin and have better color pay-off compared to the other tarte shadows I've tried in the past. For that alone, I'd have to give tarte a pat on the back.
Pros: good value for your money; good pigmentation; good staying power with a primer; the shadows apply well on the skin; good selection of face products (blush, highlighter, bronzer)
Cons: some shadows may be too shimmery for some people; I don't use clutches with makeup so I probably won't be able to use it.
The Shades Of U Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

These look super pretty! I think the frosty ones are gorgeous, even though i'm not a huge fan of frosts. Your post makes me want to play with my Tarte eyeshadow more!
Thank you! I am liking the frosty ones too, they're great on the lower lid and on the inner corners.
