Acne Spot Treatment
As I'd mentioned in a previous post, I'd been enjoying the best skin of my life for a year and a half, until around 3-4 months ago when I started breaking out, especially on the chin area. I know that this is hormonal so I have also asked help from my dermatologist, but I have been using different acne control systems to see which ones work best on my skin.
I have been using the Murad Acne & Aging Solution kit for several months now, and I am now doing a review based on this experience. What is great about this kit is that this is targeted for people who are suffering from adult acne, so that both acne-fighting and anti-aging ingredients are incorporated into the products. The Acne & Aging Skin Solution Kit is part of Murad’s Anti-Aging Acne system, created to reduce acne and aging concerns simultaneously. This kit is designed to reduce existing blemishes and prevent new blemishes from forming, while repairing skin’s barrier and optimizing collagen levels to minimize the signs of aging.
Cleanser:
Time-Release Acne Cleanser
I am loving this cleanser more than any other cleanser for acne that I own. It feels refreshing with the slight zing of citrus. It is supposed to be a time-release product, meaning it delivers a sustained release acne treatment even after rinsing, and it also hydrates and nourishes. I use this at night after I use my Clarisonic skin cleansing system with Philosophy Purity cleanser. After this duo, I clean my t-zone especially my chin with the Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser. It is a must in my nightly cleaning regimen, and I will purchase this once I run out.
Acne & Wrinkle Reducer:

I love to apply this after I cleanse my skin. Murad claims that this is clinically proven to reduce acne while minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I cannot vouch for the claims on fine lines, but I did notice that my chin was less oily and less prone to zits when I apply this. Like the cleanser, it also has a slight zing to it, similar to a lemon zing when you apply on your skin.
Anti-Aging Moisturizer SPF 20/PA:
This is a nice moisturizer especially because it has SPF. Murad claims that it fights premature aging via the UV protection and healthy collagen support, and it also minimizes blemishes and oil production. It feels light and it doesn't feel greasy on my skin. My only gripe is that I wish the SPF is at least SPF30.
Acne Spot Treatment:

This product contains 3.0% Sulfur Acne Treatment that speeds healing of stubborn blemishes. It is a spot-treatment product that I always use when I have big zits on my chin. The sulfur component helps a lot in minimizing the size of the blemish, and it helps in calming enraged cystic pimples. I use this twice a day on affected areas - before applying makeup in the morning and before bedtime.
All in all, I am very impressed with the Murad Anti-Aging Acne kit. I am glad that a company finally developed products targeting adult acne and not adolescent acne. Most acne-fighting products target younger patients who have raging hormones and super oily skin. There is a class of acne sufferers who are in their adult years and have to take care of preventing acne and wrinkles at the same time. Murad developed this kit for adult acne sufferers who not only have the misfortune of having acne, they also need to make sure that their acne medications don't dry up their finicky and sensitive skin. I am glad Murad has this kit for adult acne sufferers, it is a lifesaver.
My hope is that Murad can improve the SPF of their moisturizer and increase it to at least SPF30, because many adult acne patients are also into retinoids (like me), and we are very sensitive to the sun's harmful rays. Other than that, this is an amazing kit that I will always be having in my skin care stash.
