I was so excited to try these new Buxom by Bare Escentuals True Hue Blush. I am a huge fan of the Buxom and Bare Minerals' READY Pressed Eye Shadows, so I knew that these new pressed True Hue blushes from Buxom would be good as well. I oohed and ahh'd at the pretty colors in the compact. I got four out of the eight new shades that contain rhodiola, an arctic plant root that makes cheeks appear refreshed. As with other Bare Escentuals products, these new Pure Hues are paraben-free.
Swatches:
Heavy:
Shangri-La-La, Breathless, Tryst, Seduction
Light:
Shangri-La-La, Breathless, Tryst, Seduction
I really like that these shades are very delicate but pigmented, and they give a very nice subtle shimmer on the skin. They apply well on the skin and are not splotchy/patchy. It is easy to blend into the skin as well using a buffer or bronzer brush. Shangri-La-La is a deep plum that is not too dark when applied on the skin, especially when you use a light hand and a soft paddle shaped brush or a duo-fibre one. Breathless is soft pink peach that is so pretty, probably one of my favorites. Seduction is a bright pink that will work best on light to medium skintones, and Tryst is a warm brown but it goes on so pretty on the skin. Tryst is also one of my favorites.
Wearing Buxom True Hue blush in Tryst
As you can see, Tryst doesn't really look brown but even a slight pinky peach even. All these brushes are so pretty!
Anyways, the only thing that can be a downside is the price. It retails for $24 and will be available in February 2012 exclusively at Sephora and Sephora.com. However, these brushes are pigmented and last a good 6-8 hours and the slight sheen really brightens up the complexion, so if you are on the lookout for a blush, check this one out. I can't wait to see the other shades, like Rendezvous, a bright plum, Swept Away, a soft peach, Luvitate, described as a "wearable pink", and Euphoria, a bright peach.
The Shades Of U Rating: 4.75 out of 5 stars
