Here is the continuation of my Zoya Smoke & Mirrors Collection swatches and review. I have previously posted the Zoya Mirrors Collection Swatches and Review. This time, we focus on Zoya Smoke, a group of six cream polishes that Zoya released for this fall. Swatches are mostly three coats, except for Cynthia and Anja which are two coats.
Jana
Jana
Jana is the usual mousey greyish mauve that we always see in nail polish collections of late. Looks clean and nice on the tips, but not that unique.
Petra
Petra
That's more like it! For some reason, I grew up thinking that Petra is a name for an unattractive woman, but this Petra sure is hot! It is a smoky grurple that is also not that unique, but the bold, beautiful undertones of purple put this in the forefront of all grurple polishes.
Dree
Dree
Dree is described as a camouflage color for your nails, a drab olive green with yellow-grey undertones. It somehow reminds me of guacamole. Lovely color, but I like its cousin from the Mirrors collection, Yara, a lot better.
Anja
Anja
This one reminds me of a rich dark wine, but in a cream formula. Vampy and sexy, perfect for fall.
Cynthia
Cynthia
Cynthia is described as "A smoky, blackened peacock teal with soft warm undertones". I like the blackened teal cream; very edgy.
Codie
Codie
This one is a blackened brown or espresso shade. I can't say this is a favorite as I think I have some that are similar to this color. It is a nice shade if you think that straight black is too harsh for you.
All in all, the formula of these is typical Zoya- creamy, easy to apply. I like that the colors are rather muted and not the typical red-based fall shades from Zoya. I like these subtle but edgy creams, kinda like the Intimate collection but with more kick. Honestly, though, even if I love cream and even though it's my favorite nail polish formula of all time, I was more blown away by the Zoya Mirrors collection. Nonetheless, the Smokes are gorgeous shades that will definitely herald fall in style for you.
The Shades Of U Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

love Anja! fab colors you got there. ;-)
thanks for these swatches :) do you think petra is a dupe for essie smokin hot?
Thank you! :)
They look very close but Petra is a tad darker. I swatched them side by side. But essentially, yes, they can pass as dupes.
