China Glaze Summer 2011: Island Escape Swatches and Review

Here is a small collection from China Glaze for this hot, much-awaited summer. Island Escape is a collection of bright, funky colors and beautiful glass-flecked formulas. China Glaze is a leader when it comes to glass flecked polishes, and it did not disappoint. I can't wait to wear some of these when I go on vacation to a beautiful, powder-fine white sand island beach soon! Again, pardon the chip on my ring fingernail; I stupidly drilled a portion of my nail when I was trimming my cuticles! It's bound to grow out soon.

These are all three-coaters:

Cha Cha Cha

Cha Cha Cha is a lime green with lots of gold sparkles. Reminds me a bit of Zoya Apple or Midori, but Cha Cha Cha has a smoother, non-glass or glitter finish.

Papaya Punch

Papaya Punch is like a really bright, neon orange cream. I like that it is a cream because my other neons from China Glaze have this really flat, matte finish that I am not too fond of. Cream is my favorite finish so it all the more made this shade wearable for me.

108 Degrees

108 Degrees is not quite hot enough here in Arizona during summer, but this shade is definitely blazing hot!! The glass-flecked confection is gorgeous. I love how clean the glass flecks are mixed with the magenta base. Perfect for a mani and pedi while sipping a piña colada at the beach (or pool or bar).

Electric Pineapple

Electric Pineapple quickly became one of my favorites. I am so in love with Shrek green shades as of the moment, so even though it is not really an exact Shrek green, this one is a winner in my book. I love yellow greens and this is such a pretty one, and bright at that.

Señorita Bonita

Señorita Bonita is a pretty red purple with pink shimmer. It's very pretty and the pink shimmer is amazing.

Blue Iguana

Blue Iguana is not really unique in my stash as I have a Finger Paints polish similar in shade and finish to this one, but BI is pretty nonetheless. It has light blue shimmer and the glass flecks all the more made it look divine. I also gravitate towards blue polishes nowadays so I am a sucker for these kinds of polishes.

I didn't have a hard time with the formula, so it was all good. It is a bit thick but it didn't bother me because I was able to paint my nails in record time without any untoward incidents using these polishes. What I love are the glass flecked ones and the yellow green cream. They are cute and perfect for summer. My top faves are Blue Iguana, 108 Degrees and Señorita Bonita. As for the creams, Electric Pineapple gets my vote.
