Bobbi Brown's latest offering is a foundation that not only infuses thirsty skin with botanical ingredients and emollients that replenish moisture to the skin, it also provides a pretty high SPF protection for a foundation. I am all about sunscreens, so much so that a foundation that seamlessly incorporates sunscreen in its formula is a winner in my book. Of course, it should not only provide sun protection, but should make the skin look flawless and supple, while shielding it from the harsh rays of the sun. I have been given the opportunity to try the Bobbi Brown Extra Repair SPF 25 foundation that claims to do all the above, and here is my review on this new product.

Ingredient & Benefits
A powerful peptide boosts natural collagen levels in skin while Carrot Extract helps reduce the look of fine lines and winkles. Over time, skin looks smoother, firmer, plumper.
A water-in-oil emulsion packed with Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Willowherb and Evening Primrose Oils deeply moisturizes, conditions and replenishes skin.
Shea and Muru Muru Butters strengthen skin’s natural barrier, improving its ability to lock in moisture and prevent future damage.
Angelica and Chamomile Extracts calm and soothe skin.
SPF 25 offers broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection while Vitamin E protects skin against damaging free radicals.
Treated pigments deliver natural-looking, medium to full coverage and stay-true color that lasts all day without settling into lines or pores.
My Take: First of all, the packaging is in a tub as opposed to a pump bottle that we usually expect in liquid foundations. However, as you can see from the photos above, it is not so much of a liquid but more of a cream in consistency. It is thicker than a regular liquid foundation, so I would guess that a pump bottle is out of the question. That said, you can always scoop out a tiny bit using a clean spatula or clean fingers. A little goes a long way, and only a small amount is needed to achieve a flawless finish.
Blended into skin
Wearing Bobbi Brown Extra Repair SPF 25 foundation in Warm Beige
I used the shade Warm Beige. I applied a tiny bit using my Coastal Scents kabuki-on-a-stick, which is usually my favorite tool in applying liquid foundations. That said, you can use any method you prefer in applying this product. I buffed the product onto my skin in circular motions. The first thing I noticed was that even though this is creamier in texture compared to other liquid foundations I've tried, it did not feel heavy or mask-like on the skin. It felt light and didn't feel like I have any makeup on. It does give a healthy, dewy glow to the skin, so if you have a very oily complexion, this might not be for you. I have combination skin and this just glided very easily and blended seamlessly. I topped it with a finishing powder to seal and set the makeup, and also for oil control.
This held up pretty well especially on a warm spring day here in Arizona. I didn't need to re-touch my makeup, and with just a blotting sheet to freshen up, it looked just as great as I'd first applied it six or seven hours before.
I like the soft glow it gives to the skin. This is better suited for mature or dry skin, because this product specifically aims to help prevent visible signs of aging, or to give a youthful glow to the skin. If you have very oily, or troubled younger skin, this might not be for you.
Pros: lovely finish, gives a soft glow to the skin, moisturizes well, provides high SPF protection
Cons: might not be suited for very oily skin, packaging can be better (like in a tube), price ($55 for 1 fl. oz.)
All in all, I am impressed with this foundation, particularly because it did not break me out (and I have terrible acne-prone skin), it has a relatively high SPF and yet did not give the dreaded white-cast in pictures, and lastly, I like the soft glow it imparts. It may be a bit pricey, but if you have dry or mature skin and would love a foundation that provides high sun protection, youthful glow and moisturizing benefits, do check out this product.
