Harajuku Lovers Fragrance in Love Review

Dressed in fashions that originated in Japan, Harajuku Lovers have completely revamped their style, sporting a fantastically over-the-top look for the limited edition “Wicked style” collection. Each girl is dressed to express her own “wicked” outfit from her brightly colored “flocked” hair, right down to her super cute shoes.

I have been a fan of Harajuku Lovers fragrances, but this is the first time I tried them with their new look. They have reinvented themselves and they are amazing eye (and nose!) candy. I have gone over the descriptions of the scents of these girls, and I am pretty sure at least one of them will pique your interest:

Love: Sweet Lolita: A fruity floral of nectarine and orange flower, Love is showing off her sweet side with a classic bodice red jumper dress trimmed in lace and a large bow clip. Paired with a tulle petticoat underneath, an adorable mini top hat over her purple hair, and cute dolly Lolita “rocking horse” shoes, Love looks as innocent as can be.

Lil’ Angel: Gothic Lolita: A sparkling floral of succulent plum and champagne, Angel ditches her soft look for a more daring demeanor in a black baby doll jumper dress with a scooped neckline trimmed with white lace. Angel’s classic elegant Gothic Lolita look is topped with her flowing fire-red hair. On her feet are wooden platform Lolita shoes.

Music: Visual Kei: A woody floral of swirling cedarwood jasmine, and juicy apple, Music is wearing her school uniform blazer that she customized by adding pins of her favorite musicians. Her hair, a neon pink, compliments her beautiful green eyes and green neck tie. A white button up shirt pairs well with her plaid mini skirt. Topped off with black and white tights and two-tone creepers, Music is the perfect Visual Kei.

Baby: Kawaii/Decora: A vanilla floral of white peach and glowing amber, Baby is showing off her younger side in a bright yellow and hot pink sweater layered over a bright green t-shirt. Baby’s look is topped with accessory after accessory such as bracelets, bows, barrettes, beaded necklaces, rainbow socks, a plush backpack, and white nurse platform shoes. She romps around in hot pink and white polka dot ruffled bloomers to match her light pink hair worn in pig-tails.

G: Omotesando Girl: A fruity floral of peach, pineapple, watermelon and raspberry, G is dressed to impress as the “Champs-Elysee” of Tokyo. Wearing a green, short, vintage, free-flowing cape dress which closes with six distinct white buttons, G looks classy and sophisticated. Her red and white checkerboard leggings compliment her blonde hair. Diva red lipstick completes her look.

I love fruity fragrances, especially citrusy ones, without being overly so, that is why I decided to test the Love variant. It has this citrusy floral scent that is right up my alley ang goes with my body chemistry.

Doesn't she look darling? Here are some other pics:

The doll is pretty hefty and would make a nice display on your dresser. However, the fragrance is just the base of the doll, so there's really not a lot of product. The packaging however is really cute and great for display. I can't describe the fragrance any more than it is citrusy floral with a tiny hint of musk (at least my olfactory nerves sense it). It is perfect for me and I love to wear it when I go out at night and even during the day.

Pros: Wonderful scent, darling packaging

Cons: not travel friendly because of the huge doll cap (at least not the product I reviewed)
