Lunar Eclipse, It's Not Rocket Science, Galaxy Girl
Galaxy Girl, Halley's Comet, Out of This World
Here are some swatches and my thoughts on the Orly Cosmic FX collection. First of all, I apologize because I don't have Space Cadet YET! I bought these at Sally's and they ran out of Space Cadet. Since that is the most popular, I was not surprised, but I will be coming up with a swatch and review as soon as my neighborhood nail beauty supply store gets a hold of it (it would have been a LOT cheaper to get them there, but I couldn't wait to get my grubby hands on these).
Orly comes up with these texturized, funky-colored polishes that are all about shimmery substance composed of crushed glass particles, crystals, mica, silica that were ground and blended to create these hypnotic nail lacquers. The base of these polishes is very sheer, so all my swatches required three coats to make them opaque. These are definitely eye-catching so if you want your tips and toes to be the center of attraction, keep an eye out for these bad boys. The best part? These are Big Four Free!
Lunar Eclipse is absolutely stunning. I don't really wear much blue polish but this is definitely way off the charts. It is an electric blue with pink and purple particles. Soooo gorgeous.
It's Not Rocket Science (sunlight)
It's Not Rocket Science reminds me of moss or algae floating on tropical waters I often see when I was growing up. INRS is prettier, though. It is a green base with gold particles. I don't know if some skintones can rock this, but I particularly like it.
Galaxy Girl is another gorgeous one. It is purple based with blue and green particles. I can't even describe it because the hues change at every angle. One thing's for sure thought: it is soooo pretty!
Halley's Comet is beautiful but it is not very unique. It is a bright turquoise with green and yellow sparkles. It is an almost dupe of Zoya Charla and OPI Catch Me In Your Net which I own but have yet to swatch.
Out Of This World is a beautiful bright purple with pink and purple shimmery particles. Since I love purples, this is totally up my alley.
All in all, this is one amazing nail polish collection. I have always liked Orly because of their wide range of colors, smooth formula and their often raved-about rubberized cap. I've always thought that Orly is one of the most under-rated nail polish brands out there. With the creation and buzz swirling around Cosmic FX, however, I feel the nail polish community has finally given Orly the attention it deserves.
