Neutral Eyes and Red Lips Tutorial Using MAC Lithe Pigment and Urban Decay Naked Palette

MAC Lithe pigment (left)

I tried to combine two of my favorite things right now, and those are MAC Lithe pigment from the Fabulous Felines collection, and of course the cult fave Urban Decay Naked palette, and I am blown away by how beautiful the combination is. Lithe really complemented the uber-warm colors of Naked, and this pigment is really the quintessential lid color for me: shimmery without being over-the-top, neutral but not boring, and makes the eyes look refreshed and more awake. Naked palette is the perfect complement of Lithe in terms of crease, outer lid and highlight colors.

This entry is pretty special for me because this is the first time in a long, long while (read: two years) that I tried super bright red lips again. With all my "experience" in makeup, I still find red lips on me intimidating. I always wear dramatic eyeshadows but subdued lips, so this time, I did the opposite: subdued eyes with screaming red lips. And guess what - I kinda like the result!

For my red lips, I used my MAC Dare To Wear lipglass in Bold & Brash:

Bold & Brash (bottom)

Here is a step-by-step. All eye products Urban Decay unless otherwise noted:

Apply primer potion in Sin all over lid. Apply Original primer potion on lower lashline. Using a MAC 239 brush dampened with Fix+, apply MAC Lithe pigment on lid. Smooth harsh edges with finger.

Using the Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply Half Baked on crease.

Using the same blender brush, apply Smog on outer V and crease. Blend with the MAC 224 brush.

Apply Virgin to highlight browbone using Essence of Beauty big shader brush. Apply L'Oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner (felt tip) on upper lashline. Tightline using 24/7 glide-on pencil in Zero. Apply MAC Chromagraphic pencil in NW25/NC30 on waterline.  Using Coastal Scents' pink angled eyeliner brush, apply Half-Baked on inner lower lashline with Smog and a tiny bit of Dark Horse on outer lower lashline.

Apply Red Cherry false lashes #1. Apply mascara.
