Brush Lab Fresh Curls Hair Brush Review

I have baby-fine, limp short hair, so it is imperative that I blow dry my hair every single day to achieve a semblance of volume. I also need a barrel brush to style my hair while blowdrying. I was able to try the BrushLab Fresh Curls Round Hair Brush that is made specifically for blowdrying purposes.

My Take: First of all, I like the rubberized, no-slip handle. I am a klutz especially during manic mornings, so I need a firm grip on the handle. It also gives better control of the brush, especially since I use my other hand to control and hold the blowdryer. The better the control, the better the results for me. Second, I like the 100% boar bristles. Boar bristle hair brushes have a little more flexibility than nylon bristles, and give shine to my hair. The thermal ceramic coated barrel helps evenly distribute the heat to prevent over drying & damage. This is probably the reason why this brush helps speed up the drying process.

I personally like the 2" barrel as this is perfect for my short hair. However, the size of the head is also great for longer hair. The head also easily curls the tresses with a little help from the blowdryer, and of course creates volume for my limp hair. I guess the best part is the price. The brush retails for a little below $15 a pop.

Satina Spectra Hot Pink Hand Mirror



I was also able to try these hand held mirrors from Satina Specktra. I keep one in my desk drawer at work for quick touch-ups. I am not a fan of handheld mirrors, though, because I prefer my hands to be free to do other things while looking in the mirror. However, this works great to keep on your desktop or bathroom counter if you want to quickly check the back of your head/hair (assuming of course that you have another mirror like in a bathroom). The handheld mirror is also great to quickly check your face to make sure your makeup is immaculate. I also like the candy-colored choices and the sturdy plastic.
