Shimmery Neutral Eyes Featuring Aromaleigh Mineral Eye Shadows

I missed my Aromaleigh shadows, so I just had to use them for this look. Note that I had been using some Aromaleigh samples again and again. I know that there were a lot of people who were complaining about the size of Aromaleigh shadows. They may look miniscule in size but because they are very pigmented, a smidgen is all you need (a dab or two on your lids). I buy full size jars for lid colors or those that I know I would be using a lot of. However, I also have samples of these lid colors and I haven't used up even one baggie.

I used Earthy Delights which is a beautiful shimmery taupey-silver color. Hazelnut and Rockbottom are my favorite crease colors because they are so perfect for the outer lids to give the depth that I need. Rockbottom is a Rocks! Sonic eyeshadow and I have this little baggie for years now and I use it frequently, but I haven't used it up yet!

I got Maiden from a recent garage-sale of Aromaleigh discontinued colors, and I like it as a highlight color.

Do you know the difference in my application when I use loose mineral eyeshadows like Aromaleigh vs. my application when I use pressed eyeshadows? I use the stiff shader brush (MAC 239) even on the outer V and crease when I use loose shadows to prevent fallout. So I just basically use one brush for all shadows (well, not counting the highlight brush which I use to apply my highlighter on the browbone, and the 224 to blend, but I don't use it to apply). When I use pressed shadows, I always use my crease brushes for the outer V and crease. In both instances, though, I always use the MAC 224 to blend and soften harsh lines.

Here's a step by step. All eye products Aromaleigh unless otherwise mentioned.


Apply Urban Decay primer potion all over lid and lower lashline. Using a stiff shader brush (MAC 239 or Loew Cornell 3/8" maxine's mop), apply Earthy Delights foiled using MAC Charged Water on lid.


Using the same brush, apply Hazelnut dry in patting motions on mid to outer lid.


Using the same brush, apply Rockbottom dry on outer V.



Like so.


Blend the edges softly using the MAC 224 brush.


To give depth to the crease, apply more Hazelnut using the stiff shader brush. Blend using the 224.


Using the Essence of Beauty big fluffy brush, apply Maiden to highlight the browbone.


Line upper lashline using L'oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner (felt tip).


Rim eyes (waterline and tightline) using Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on lip pencil in Zero. Using Sonia Kashuk small detail brush, apply Earthy Delights on inner lower lashline and Rockbottom on outer lower lashline. Apply mascara.
