Here are complete swatches of this collection. I already mentioned in the previous MAC Art Supplies review that I truly love the greasepaint sticks and pearlglide liners, but I am not loving the lipstain markers at all. Upon seeing them all today at the MAC counter, my opinion hasn't changed. I was a little on the fence about pearl glides but I fell in love with Undercurrent, a beautiful blue teal that would really make brown eyes pop, so I snagged this. I also got Dirty greasepaint stick, a blackened taupe with pearl which would be amazing with my favorite MAC pigments like Sweet Sienna, Coco and Subtle.
Greasepaint Sticks:
Aren't they gorgeous? I already mentioned Charred Mauve, Brown Now, and Below Ground in my previous review, but the others are breathtakingly grease-like. Color pay-off is phenomenal. Zinc Zone is a dark gunmetal which would make a great base or liner for smokey eyes. Dirty is very popular because of the reason I mentioned above. Uniformly Blue is great for intense blue looks. Greengrease beckoned; it was a blackened forest green - gorgeous. And of course, Slick Black is your staple deep, dark black which would be perfect for a wide variety of looks.
Pearlglide Liners:
I fell in love with the Pearlglides, but my favorite of them all is Undercurrent. I would definitely use this in several of my eye looks. Petrol Blue is nice as well - a deep navy, but I prefer my Fly By Blu pearlglide which is brighter than Petrol Blue. Designer Purple is another gorgeous color, an iridescent violet. Industrial is a periwinkle grey. Almost Noir is a dirty plum, and Black Line is black with strong green shimmer.
Pro LongWear Lipstain Markers:
I believe these lipstain markers are not getting good reviews because they really don't look that great when worn alone. I believe when they are applied over or under a tinted lip balm or underneath a lipglass, people might like it better. I might layer lipglasses over my lipstain markers and will update my review. My favorite colors are the reds because they really do make a bold statement. I was thinking these markers will also make great body makeup - I mean, look how amazing they look on plain skin! They might work great in creating masks for Halloween or just about any occasion when creativity calls for it.
As I said, the winners of this collection are truly the greasepaint sticks and pearlglides. Do try them out at your stores or counters. I'm pretty sure you will find at least one from these that will pique your interest.
