If you have been following my tutorials, you would notice that I always use Sonia Kashuk blender brushes for my eye shadows. I like how affordable they are and yet they get the job done. This time, I am reviewing one of their newest face brushes, the duo fiber brush. True to its reputation, Sonia Kashuk made this brush very affordable. I only got it for $12 and change. I also like the sleek, simple, practical design of the brush .
The head of the brush is a little splayed and compared to the MAC 187, it is not as dense, but the hairs are not sparse either. However, the hairs are very soft and feel heavenly on the skin. It applies glows, highlighters or mineral blush/face enhancers or finishing powders very well. It gives the slightest whisper of color on the skin so one doesn't end up with clown cheeks when using pigmented blushes. I prefer to use this with glows or highlighters, however (like MAC mineralize skinfinishes). It gives an ethereal glow to the skin without making my skin look like a grease ball.
I have not tried this using liquid foundation so I wouldn't know how this would fare, but I would guess it will do well because the head has an adequate amount of duo fibers, as you can see in the pic.
Upside: simple, sleek design, amazing affordability, good quality, decent amount of duo fibers
Downside: not as dense as the 187 (although as I'd mentioned, it still has a pretty good head of hair).
The Shades Of U Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
If you want an affordable, good quality duo fiber brush which costs a quarter of the price of the MAC 187, try Sonia Kashuk. SK has never failed me before, and this time it didn't disappoint as well. You can purchase these brushes at all Target stores nationwide.
