MAC Too Fabulous: Cremesheen and Mineralize Blush Duo Swatches and Reviews

It's the perfect time to launch the new cremesheen glass collection as it is getting warmer, and it's always good to dress down the lips and wear something airy and light in time for sprng. I was able to play with the colors of this collection last week. I'm pretty glad that the MAC Powers That Be decided to make cremesheen glasses permanent. Dazzleglasses and lipglasses have their own fanbase, but there are also many people that like the cremesheen glasses. They are softly luscious, not sticky compared to the lipglasses, and not glittery like the dazzleglasses. They have subtle shimmer that is not too in-your-face but still give a luscious look to the puckers.





I have Fashion Scoop from the previous Cremesheen releases and it's a pale cool baby pink with light pearl that goes well with all of my pink and lavender lippies. For some reason Ever So Rich has not been repromoted but I really like its lilac shade.

Just Superb is a dirty neutral pink that is nice as an everyday gloss. Boy Bait is a light neutral beige with pearl that has been repromoted and like the rest of the cremesheen glasses in this collection, will be part of the permanent collection. That is good news since this was one of the more popular cremesheen shades.

Partial to Pink is a light creamy yellow pink with light gold pearl that is also a nice neutral color; great for spring and summer. Deelight is very pretty, a mid-tone neutral that I believe would suit my complexion. Double Dare is a sexy coral red, while Richer, Lusher is a coral peach. Loud & Lovely is a blue-based pink which would probably suit fair and light complexions, and Over Indulgence is a neutral brown.

The downside that I can see is that the lighter colors are all very similar to each other. There is only one bright color which is Double Dare. This collection might disappoint people who are looking forward to more color-infused, vibrant cremesheen glasses. If you are a nude lipgloss girl, however, you will love the permanent selection of the cremesheen glasses.

MINERALIZE BLUSH DUOS

Here again is another installment of limited edition mineralize blush duos from MAC. They are blush versions of the mineralize skinfinishes. They are loose minerals that are shaped and baked in terracotta pots for 24 hours and allowed to cool in their pretty dome-shapes. When they first came out, I went gaga and bought a bajillion of them, and now I hardly use them because I have way too many blushes. I got the color which appealed to me the most because I don't have a mineralize blush like this: Two Virtues. It's a double shaded blush in light blue pink/light violet that I really love since I like purples and pinks.



See how pretty Two Virtues is on the skin? Chic Couple is a light yellow brown/Dark peach that are similar in shade to some of the mineralize blushes that I already have, like Cheek and Cheerful and Fad-abulous. Buddy Up is a dirty rose/Neutral yellow pink.



Rhapsody in Two is the lightest in shade of the all the new mineralize blushes and perhaps will be one of the most popular. It's a light pale pink/Pale peach that will also work great as a highlighter or glow. Bi-tone is a rose pink/Copper Bronze. The swatch easily shows the two shades. Sun and Moon is a neutral brown/Pink brown that is too dark for my taste.

LIP LINERS



I always use lip liners in tandem with my lip products so I am interested in these. Naked Liner is a light neutral that would work great with nude lipglosses or lipsticks in order to avoid the dreaded dark lip liner look. In Synch is a bright yellow pink that is also nice with nude glosses and lippies. Mouth Off is a deep peach coral perfect for coral lipglasses. Trimmed In Pink is a bright blue pink that will work great with hot pinks and fuchsias. Boldy Bare is a dirty red brown that would probably work best with most of my lip products. Chestnut is an intense brown that would work great for medium to dark skintone.

All in all, I am happy that the cremesheen glasses are now permanent. I am disappointed however with the lack of vibrant shades. The mineralize blushes are also worth looking into if you like shimmer blushes, but again, the color selection is a bit disappointing in my opinion because they look pretty similar to each other. However, if you are new to MAC or the mineralize blushes, these are nice colors to build your collection. I recommend Two Virtues if you like pinks, and Rhapsody in Two as a light pink/peach blush or as a highlighter. Chic Couple is also nice if you like peaches or bronzes. As for the cremesheen glass, I recommend Fashion Scoop because I have it and it looks great on its own or over pink or nude lippies. For medium-toned skin, Deelight is promising. I also like Boy Bait.
