Greens and Olives Using NYX Runway Collection Secret World Palette
Saturday, March 27, 2010
I was able to score three of the four NYX palettes yesterday at ULTA, and two of them were the last ones at my ULTA store, so that explains why there are cracks in the shadows (believe me, I wouldn't get the ones with cracks if there were other available ones). Nonetheless, I loved the colors so much to overlook the imperfections of the items. For this look, however, I used my perfect Runway Collection palette in Secret World:
These are hella pigmented and rich, and the application is very smooth. It's amazing to know that these shadows are just a dollar each, because each 10-shadow palette is only $9.99 each. I also love how the shadows looked on my lids. The finish is just the same as my high-end eyeshadows over a good eyeshadow base.
Here's a step-by-step. Refer to the photo above for the particular shadows used.
Apply Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin all over lid and lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply MAC paint pot in Mosscape on lid.
Using a firm shader brush, apply Shadow A on lid.
Using a crease brush (I used Sonia Kashuk blender brush), apply Shadow B (a beautiful olive color) on outer V.
Using the same brush, apply Shadow C on crease and outer lid. Blend using the MAC 224 brush.
Apply more Shadow C using the same blender brush if necessary. Blend harsh lines using the 224.
Apply Shadow D on the browbone using Stila No. 5 brush.
Rim eyes (waterline and tightline) using Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on pencil in Zero. Using Sonia Kashuk mini-detail brush, apply Shadow A on inner lower lashline and Shadow C on outer lower lashline. Apply L'Oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner (felt tip) on upper lashline.
Apply Red Cherry falsies #15. Apply mascara.

very nice aileen! i wish we had those nyx palettes readily available too.
gorgeous look! are these palettes from NYX new?
You always have such beautiful makeup. I really appreciate that you give step-by-step instructions. Most importantly I love that you give a full faced photo after completing your makeup. It's just hard for me to see the total eyemakeup look without a full faced shot. Although I don't post a comment much I do subscribe and read your blog.
love the look! besides the smokey eyes palette which was the other one that u got?
Love this look!
Also, I got my Eco Tools brush set today!!! I used it and I have to say that your review was spot on! Thank you so much!
Crystal- thank you! I love NYX, I hope they become available in Manila malls soon!
Robin- thanks! =) I believe so, but I am not sure, but when I checked ULTA most of them have been sold out so I guess they're relatively new because they're selling like hot cakes. =D
Lucy- aww thank you! Your comment made my day! It's just ironic that this particular post doesn't have a full-face look, but I always try to include one. =) Thanks again.
Makeup Geisha- thank you! I got the Jazz Night palette as well; will be featuring it in an entry soon. =)
funluvinmom- yay! Super sorry for the delay; I had to wait for the mailing labels from the sponsor. Enjoy them!
