I got a hold of the MAC Viva Glam "From Our Lips" collection featuring Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga, and I am liking how opposite these shades are. Nonetheless, they look great and can even be layered together if one is too cool or warm for your taste. I bought both lipsticks at the MAC counter at Nordstrom.
Viva Glam Gaga is a light blue-based pink. It might not work for every one, but if you like a nice cool pink, this one might be for you. I thought it was a bit hard for my skintone to pull this off, though, but I can always layer it over Viva Glam Cyndi (which I did in a picture below), or top it off with a warm berry or coral lipglass. Either way, it's a nice color and I didn't hesitate to buy it because 100% of the proceeds goes to a noble cause.

Viva Glam Cyndi is a beautiful sheer strawberry red to my eyes, and is very buildable and can be as sheer or as opaque as you want it to be. MAC is right, it is not the typical red that I see being churned out by the company. I like the relative softness of the color.

All in all, I love the striking differences in these two new VGs, but I love the combination as well. I will be using Gaga when I wear really dramatic or smokey eye makeup, and I will reserve Cyndi for those days when I want the lips to make a statement. Thanks for the swatches! I dreamt about the VG Cyndi a few nights ago and I've been thinking about it since, wondering what kind of colour it looks like. I wonder when these are being released internationally though.

Beryl- A Rose Romance is a yellow-based light pink as it has gold pearl, while Gaga is a similar shade but is very blue-based. Hope that helps!

I am a fan of your most awesome blog! I have thin lips and like to wear lipliners most of the time... I was wondering if there might me a lipliner you might suggest (MAC or otherwise) that would match the Gaga VG lipstick...??
