Quick Gold and Brown Eye Look Using MAC Cocomotion Pigment
Thursday, January 7, 2010
I have been scouring the net and I think Cocomotion is one of the most popular MAC pigments because it can be a neutral, everyday shade, and yet it's not too boring or run-of-the-mill. I've even gathered from ladies who have blogs and YouTube channels that Cocomotion is their favorite MAC pigment. I am no different! I am beginning to really love this pigment, in fact, this is my go-to shadow for work everyday. I carpool with a co-worker early in the morning and I need to put on my makeup and fix my hair in fifteen minutes, and this pigment really works to my advantage. Why? Because I can just slap this on my lid and just put highlighter on the browbone, liner and mascara and I am done! The different depths and nuances it gives when light hits it is amazing. It can look as light or as dark depending upon the lighting, so it can be your inner, outer lid and crease color all in one.
Here is a very quick look I did on Christmas day when I was hurrying up to go watch Sherlock Holmes the movie. I forget the other colors I used, but I believe I used Aromaleigh mineral shadow in Hazelnut for the crease and highlighter and dark brown colors for the outer lid from this POP Beauty Brown Eyes Wallet palette:
Here's a step-by-step. All products MAC unless otherwise stated.
Apply Urban Decay Primer potion all over lid and lower lashline. Using a stiff shader brush like the 239, foil Cocomotion on lid using Visine eye drops.
Like so.
Using the same brush, apply Aromaleigh mineral shadow in Hazelnut dry on outer lid. Blend with the 224 brush.
Using the Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply dark brown colors from the POP Beauty Brown Eyes Wallet palette to give depth to the look. Blend the colors in one-direction sweeps using the 224.
Apply highlighter shade from the POP Beauty Brown Eyes Wallet palette on the browbone using Stila Brush No. 5 (pardon the stray brow hairs!).
Apply L'Oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner.
Rim eyes (waterline and tightline) using Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero. Apply Cocomotion on lower lashline using Sonia Kashuk mini-detail brush. Curl lashes, apply mascara.

Great look! What does foiling using Visine mean?
