Avon introduces In Bloom, the first fragrance developed in partnership with Reese Witherspoon. Alluring and mysterious, In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon is for the multi-faceted woman who’s down to earth yet glamorous, elegant, authentic and confident.
The fragrance is an invitation to experience the sensual side of a woman. Precious and exquisite, the scent combines a delicate femininity with a seductive allure and a mysterious beauty.
"In developing In Bloom, I found myself drawn to the scents of my childhood in Tennessee,” explains Reese Witherspoon. “We had a great big Magnolia tree in the back yard, and it's that beautiful white blossom that inspired the perfume. In Bloom is indicative of where I am in my life today. I'm feeling very strong and independent, and so happy, so full of life. The fragrance truly captures that feeling—it's very sensual, very romantic and alluring.”

MY TAKE: When I think about celebrity-concocted fragrances, I immediately think tacky; I don't know why. However, I gave Reese Witherspoon the benefit of the doubt, because she's one of those few celebrities that are neither skanky, cheap nor all over the place. I know it's unfair to associate a scent with the celebrity that inspired it, but that's the main idea, right? True to this line of thinking, Avon depicts this fragrance as the epitome of a woman who is "down to earth yet glamorous, elegant, authentic and confident", and to my mind, perfectly describes Reese's public persona.
The first whiff reminded me of a woodsy fragrance mixed with magnolia. Reese's inspiration for this fragrance was the memory of the fragrance of magnolias while growing up in Tennessee. That alone shows just how much of a girl-next-door Reese is, but she also has a little bit of an edgy side, just like the perfume. It's georgia peach, magnolias and amber that evoke an easy-going yet elegant, confident air. That's the best I can describe the fragrance.
Needless to say, I am drawn to it. I really don't like too woodsy scents, but the georgia peach and magnolias balance the woodsy notes. The packaging is gorgeous, one of the prettiest I've seen. I love the gold hue with the delicate flower in full bloom on top. Also, as you can see from the product information, this fragrance is quite affordable compared to others, $34 for a 1.7 oz.

Don't like it.
Different strokes!
I must agree that the packaging is truly very pretty and that is about where it stops for me. I myself don't like woodsy fragrances and though the woodsy scent was not very harse, it was still a little too much for me because I suffer from migraines and I am very sensitive to smells, but for others, give it a try before you write it off, it my be ok for some of your readers.
